So glad we found this product that our mechanic was using. We gift these easy to use hood props because they are so useful! Since this pulls out for use and pushes down for storage - you can keep it in the trunk or under a seat for easy storage. Sturdy hold when placed properly. We were using a wood stick- but these are so much better and safer!

I bought this to use as a dumpster lid prop. I am only 4' 9" tall and it was impossible for me to hold the dumpster lid up and throw the trash in. This product works fantastic for that purpose. It is very sturdy and and fits perfectly in perfectly in my storage area in the car. It has rubber tips on both ends so it does not slip. I will add a picture to my review whenever Amazon gets that function error fixed. I did add a macrame "tail" to this just in case it fell into the dumpster so I could pull it out. See attached picture.

I have used this tool for several years now. Much safer to use than a long prybar or a 2x4 piece of lumber. It is made out of quality materials and is easily adjustable. This tool belongs in every professional toolbox and I would definitely buy this particular one again. Good quality tool.

This hood prop was good. Nice and sturdy. Kind of heavy but the only issue I had was the tab for the top part of the prop that releases last part of it did not work that great and so it was difficult being able to expand that part of the prop.

I have owned a few hood supports that were somewhat flimsy in over all design that flexed when you applied any type of weight to the support. I don’t think I will have that issue with this hood support, this thing is heavy duty. I like to use this style support for all types of equipment repairs, works great for automotive hoods and back hatches but also works to hold open other types of access panels and doors. I was working on some commercial equipment that had access panels that needed to be held open and this support works perfectly. I have been using this support when doing some rehab type kitchen and bath work too. This support works well when ever you need to hold a panel open or provide some additional support while working alone and there is no place to attach a bungee.

The struts are gone on my old Jeep and I was recommended this tool by the mechanic. It's perfect for propping up the heavy bonnet and quite sturdy.I'd rather have this tool than replace the struts which seem very small and underpowered for a Jeep bonnet.
