I took in a female feral young cat this winter. I discovered that she did not have litter box manners that a regular domestic cat would have. She has what I call "elevator butt" , meaning that she initially squats in the litter box but then raises her back end up and starts to "spray" over the sides of most standard litter boxes. I had the cat spayed, but this behavior continued. This litter box shield does the trick. Sides are high enough so that the cat cannot spray over the top. The shield is a little large and cumbersome, but it can be easily cleaned by using a garden hose outside, or if you are careful, you can use the sprayer in your kitchen sink to clean it. It was easy to assemble with the included instructions. I use a "puppy training pad" underneath the litter box to catch any urine that drips down the sides into the bottom of the shield. I recommend this product if you have a cat with "elevator butt"

This shield fit perfect in the space I had for it. It took a minute to put together but I realized that on one side it folds opposite of the crease (meaning to fold it backwards from what it appears). It fit together perfectly and is sparing my wall and floor from pee and litter scatter. Great product!

This product is doing just what I need it to do, which is keep the litter in its place moreso, protect the walls and generally make the litter box area look a bit better. I am admittedly bad at assembling things (low interest, lol), but don't have any helpers currently so I did this myself. I essentially folded this thing every which way until it made sense / went together. Found the instructions to be ..unclear.

We have had so many messes to clean up with loose litter. I wish I had found this long ago. It’s so easy to keep the majority of the cat litter contained. I love it..

I tried folding it every which way but could never get it to snap together. Either my item was defective OR the instructions lacked enough information to get it to work. The plastic is so thick it doesn't bend much and the snaps seem far too shallow to hold it together unless you use additional hardware, which I don't have and should not be required considering the price. Returning it. I'm SO disappointed! It seemed such a perfect solution!

At first I thought this product was great because it fit my litter box well and kept litter from being flung from the sides. Unfortunately, pee doesn't slide back into the litter box from the walls. It slides down under the litterbox and smells awful. Now I'm back to using stick on shields.
