We change our filter every time we change the litter and they come out moldy sometimes. This is every 3 to 4 weeks. They help hold the smell pretty well.

After having some issues with one my LR4 globes, I started cutting these in half. I use half in the filter cage and in the other half I place a Fresh Breeze packet. This works great! I have 2 LR4s, 6 cats, and this combo keeps the globe free for rotating and smells great as it cleans.

I didn't know this was in the litter robot till Amazon suggested it. The robot started to smell more often and I didn't know why. Replaced the filter after 8 months and it does help the smell. The litter robot has such low maintenance this is easy to take care of.

I sort of set and forget my Litter Robot. About a year after purchasing it, I remembered… Hey! There’s a filter in this thing. It was disgusting. Do yourself a favor and order some spares to keep on hand.
