Lixie dead blow hammers are the only dead blow hammers that I use. I have three different sizes that I use on a daily basis, 1-1/4, 2, and a 3 inch. Each one has a specific use for the job at hand. They come with a solid hickory handle that will take all you'll be able to give it. I haven't broken a handle yet, I've been using them for 35 years and counting. Another nice feature about a Lixie hammer is that they have replacement heads available in 4 different head hardnesses. Brown, Red, Green, and Black. Brown being the softest, and Black being the hardest. I've been using the Green and Black heads most of the time. They are a little pricey but worth it. You will only need to purchase one of these, compared to other brands. Everything else is just, well just a hammer.
