Recommended by my neurologist. Fun and progressively challenging. My 6-year-old granddaughter likes it too. Great for learning to follow directions.

Each of the 166 puzzles presents a number of circles, where the solver must place a number of colored chips. The puzzle comes with one or more clues as to the relationships between the chips ("One of the red chips is directly on the left of an orange chip", "A blue chip is somewhere below a white chip" and so forth). That's it-- but the puzzles are quite well thought out, varied, engaging, and arranged in difficulty levels sufficient to challenge most children. As a tool for building deductive and critical thinking skills, it is worth its weight in gold.I am not sure whether there is overlap with the Logic Links books; there are 100 or so puzzles in each book, and 166 total puzzles by comparison here. Perhaps the boxed set is a "best of" from the other books, something to be aware of. In any event the puzzles would take most children quite some time to work through, so I think this is at least a very good choice for a first pick in the series (you would then be guaranteed to encounter at least some new puzzles in the books). The price works out to pennies a puzzle. You can't beat this value. For younger children, I would also check out "Clever Castle".

As a licensed clinical social worker, I have been using this "game" with the kids I see as well as a fun tool with my own 3 children- ages 13, 10 1/2, and 8 1/2. The game gives clues as to where the colored chips must be placed and there is an answer key. There are several levels of play, so the game can grow with children from about age 7 and up. It is a great game for kids with executive functioning struggles as it teaches them to break down a task and think a problem through logically. You cannot go wrong with this game! Take it to restaurants with your kids instead of their electronic devices!

I love logic puzzles and I bought Logic Links to introduce my 7 and 9 year old boys to them and to help with their deductive reasoning skills. They love doing the puzzles. These are not very difficult, which I found to be a good thing for them so that it is not too overwhelming or frustrating for them as they discover logic puzzles, but still manages to challenge their minds just enough to keep their interest and get the wheels turning. My 3 year old insists on playing with the colored chips every day after his older brothers finish a few puzzles and he has a blast separating them by color, using them to add and subtract, and creating or completing patterns with them. The first day it arrived, my husband and I tried out the advanced cards, but they really weren't hard -- so if you are an adult who loves logic puzzles and are looking to be highly challenged, this probably isn't the answer, but I do recommend it for children!

This is a great little solitaire game for a 6-8 year old, reinforcing some reading skills, concepts of left of/ right of, next to, etc. You could also do it with a younger child if you were willing to help some. There are other "games" similar to Logic Links, such as Animalinks (I think that's what it's called), but it is all basically the same thing. When I bought this, I thought it was for adults, however, and it is really not. Unless you are frequently stumped telling your left from your right, that is. The puzzles are not difficult at all. Each consists of a list of "ingredients" and a few simple instructions, for example:"Use one red chip, two black chips, and a yellow chip. The black chips do not touch. The yellow chip is immediately to the right of the red chip."There are also five circles (or however many circles you require for the number of chips specified) under each problem. The goal is to arrange the chips according to the instructions. My 6-year-old was able to work these puzzles fairly quickly and easily by herself. I tried the very last one (they are supposedly rank-ordered according to difficulty) and it was simple for me to solve.I generally love-love-love Mindware products, but this one has limited playability, in my opinion. Who is really going to start back at the beginning again at the easiest ones and do them all over again? Not my child, that's for sure. With about 100-something puzzles, it can take a little time to get through, but then that's that. That said, it's great for whipping out at restaurants as "something to do" before the food comes. And if you have more than one child, of course, you can get more bang for your buck. So, in general, I'd say I do like it, it keeps the little ones busy, but if you're looking for a real brain twister, look elsewhere.

Love! I was seeing an occupational/speech therapist after my concussion...never had I had one that lasted as long as this one... a year and a half. It effected me in so many ways; speech, memory, writing, thinking and so much more. So when I started seeing her, she introduced me to this game and it was so extremely hard for awhile, but then it got a little easier. She then through in a twist... where she would cover up the clues and I would have to memorize the clues and then follow those clues... this tool/game helped me so much... I even got it for my elderly parents (72 yo/89 ) and they love it too!
