Your cart is empty.Lokar Hi-Tech Kickdown Kit for ford AOD Transmission is designed with a specially extruded liner for extended life of the cable, not to be confused with ordinary brake hose. The kickdown features aluminum fittings with ferrule to eliminate frayed cable ends. The kickdowns are adaptable for all types of manifolds including tunnel ram, blower manifolds and Weber induction systems. The kickdown can be mounted with Lokar's stainless steel carburetor bracket and return springs (which are sold separately). All units are available in black housing upon special request. It has complete instructions which are included in the kit.

Installed this in a '50 model Ford with a 302 and AOD transmission. The car has never shifted so smoothly! Lokar states that this is for use with Holley carburetor only. I used it with the Lokar bracket on my 2 barrel Motorcraft 2100 carb and it worked perfectly. I did have a local transmission shop install the cable and adjust because I wasn't comfortable with setting the correct pressures.

Cable came apart and was getting jammed in the sleeve. Ive bought tons of these and never had an issue. Maybe just got a bad one il order another

Good points: High quality materials, will likely be kicking down that transmission for the rest of the car's existence. The instructions were good in detailing how to set up the transmission shift point.Bad points: considering it's a custom kit, designed specifically for this application, I thought it was kinda weak and would likely be problematic for anyone who isn't really hot rod savvy. The instructions were an absolute bear, and I ended up just cross-referencing the pictures to put it together properly. Also, an angled bracket comes with it, which is clearly not on the correct angle (the pictures show it bent properly, but if you're not paying attention it will definitely screw up the alignment). Finally, the return spring for the kick-down wasn't strong enough - had to add a secondary carb spring to help the lever reposition where it's supposed to. Worth the money? Yes because it's the only thing out there!
