Looks cool and was easy to setup. Warning: might not work well with thinner blades…

For years I have kept my two WW2 Japanese swords in a cornet in a closet. No more! My WW2 vet father's swords are out in the open in a book case along with a Japanese battle square. My dad never would tell me how he came to acquire these. The stand snaps together perfectly, but you might want to use a dab of glue in each joint.

It took me about 10 minutes or less to put it together. There are no instructions included but it's all straightforward and self-explanatory. Four wooden studs are going into the stand "legs" and connect shelves to them. I was expecting that there would be a screw as well to keep the "legs" attached to the side shelves but no. This is a bit of a weak point because the studs are not holding it firm enough and when I lift the entire stand, most of the time the legs fall off. However, when it stands still it's stable, no problem at all. I suggest putting some wood glue on the studs to keep the legs attached at all times. The middle board that connects shelves on the contrary is held with a screw on each side and the connection is very sturdy. The sides have two square slots, and the board has two corresponding cutouts on each side, all you need to do is insert the board into the slots like Lego and tighten the screws. Connection is very sturdy and robust, no movement at all. End to end, once assembled the whole stand is very stable. Shelves have felt lining to prevent any scratches on sword's scabbards and they keep my katanas very firmly. Once you put a sword on a shelf, it looks absolutely fantastic. This stand also features a "Five-Clawed Golden Dragon" emblem in the center of the middle board. Surprisingly, it's not simply painted on wood as I was expecting, the emblem is thick, detailed, shiny, and very prominent, not sure what it's made of, but it looks like an engraved metal plate. This emblem is pre-attached to the board, so you don't need to do anything. It's incredibly detailed and painted mirror-golden color and it adds a great deal of style and authenticity to this whole stand. It really looks great together with my Chinese traditional training sword, check out the photos! One note of caution. The black paint on the stand parts wasn't fully dried and when I started assembling it left black smudges all over my hands and fingers. It wasn't too bad, but I suggest that you take the pieces out and if you smell paint then leave it laying outside for a few days to let its paint dry completely and then start assembling it.*** TL;DR ***Yes, I definitely recommend this stand for anyone who collects swords or just has a few laying around and wants to display them in an organized and stylish fashion. The stand is well made, really high quality, and holds 3 katanas (you can also get two and one shelf versions depending on your needs). It's easy to put together and it looks absolutely fantastic. Solid 5 stars product.+++ Pros +++1) Easy to put together, literally 5 mins.2) Very stable and robust.3) High-quality and well-made.4) Velvet lining keeps scabbards scratch-free.5) 3 shelves design, the more the better!6) The central "Dragon" is made of metal.--- Cons ---1) Legs are not firmly attached, may fall off.2) Paint wasn't fully dried and left smudges on my fingers.

This is a beautiful way to display swords without actually hanging them on a wall. The stand is easy to assemble and fairly sturdy once it's together. If it will be a long term display I'd recommend putting just a little wood glue into the joints while assembling it though just to increase it's strength and sturdiness. The pieces pretty much just slide together and the do so with ease. It's not difficult to figure out how they go together just by looking at them and won't take more than a minute or two to set up right out of the box. While the design is very eastern looking and clearly looks perfect for use with katanas, it's perfectly capable of holding western blades like a long sword, broad sword, or short sword. It also holds my scimitar and sabre well. It works fine for both straight and curved blades.

It was packaged well and assembled easily. As you can see in the pic it looks great as well. I bought it with the Katana as a gift and the recipient was extremely pleased with it.The price is on point for the quality of the product. If this is what you are looking for you can’t go wrong with this option.
