I thought I was getting a full sized drum, but this thing is no bigger that 12". All the adjustment nuts and parts that are on this one are completely nice and fully functional. I love it and my G-Kids are going to get a lot out of it. I know that teaching babies or 2 yr olds learn beat and repetition first because of the reading comprehensive skills. And these are going to work our great..

For a very little drum is has a decent sound. The key thing to remember it is very little. I bought this as part of a set to bring with me to acoustic jam sessions with friends and to give to other folks there so they had something to do while the rest of us were playing.Nice tone, very light - but again - it does have a small playing surface. You don't get the full range you'd get on a regular djembe. As I bought it as a drum for guests and/or non band members to play, I can't complain. Just remember it isn't a replacement or one of the smaller drums with the full range of playability.

I ordered several of these small drums for my granddaughters. I am a professional percussionist, and these looked like fun for them. They are absolutely wonderful instruments. No, you can't play them with full adult-size hands, but an adult would have no problem getting a wonderful sound out of them with fingertips. They sound great. They respond to normal hand percussion techniques, and are beautifully made.I am thrilled with all of them.

I really thought that it would be a little bigger. I bought it for my grandson, it's just a little too small. The sound on the Djembe was very nice.

Just the right size for the fingers to work on just the right rhythm for the music score. No need to drag a large conga to the coffee shop.

I do not personally own one of these but I do have mini bongos and a mini conga from this series. Those that are complaining about the size of this drum before purchasing should have done their research. Also the heads on the bongos and conga were full thickness. I replaced the heads with thinner skins and the sound is perfect. Full resonance for the size and appropriate overtones. Nice pops, scratches, slaps ect. Great for soloing and gigging. I will be adding this dejambi to my collection and yes I will be replacing the skin.
