Worked just as advertised. Tig welded which is impressive and very strong. On the GM 4.8 you have to pullthe dipstick and bracket. If your doing anything that involves harmonic balancer removal or installation this Tool is priceless. Will Recommend!

You can’t remove the balancer without this tool, don’t bother trying (at least with a ratchet and breaker bar).

This is a great tool to have to lock the motor down to break the harmonic balancer loose or the flywheel if you don't have pneumatic tools. The welding on it could be better, but it has held up to my use. Overall, a good buy.

For less than $13 this tool is a no brainer in my opinion. It does the job it's intended for and is plenty strong to last longer than the owner. A very small investment to prevent busted knuckles and chipped ring gear teeth which both frequently result from using pry bars or screwdrivers.

I've wanted a tool like this for years. I used to jam a pry bar into the flex plate teeth to hold it stationary while torquing down the balancer bolt and hoping I wouldn't break one. It was a real pain torquing that bolt down to the correct angle spec while simultaneously holding the crank still. Now I can just bolt this tool on to hold the crank still. It makes it so much easier. It's built strong and painted nicely too.

This is a great tool for helping remove pesky torque converter bolts. This will lock the flexplate in place and allow you to get better leverage on each bolt. This bolts into the starter bolt holes which is probably the best place for it to bolt but it does mean you have to unbolt this and then turn the flexplate/crankshaft to then lock in the next bolt. The better approach seems to be to hold the crankshaft while getting the bolts out you can and then use this if you have a bolt that doesn't come out as easily. Overall a good value and does seem to save time and effort when working on the stuck torque converter bolts. FYI the pic doesn't show the teeth lining up very well but that is because I started to unbolt the tool when I remembered to take the picture. They do line up really well when bolted all the way down.

First off, this is a great tool to have. Makes your life a lot easier and safer when trying to unbolt a flexplate or flywheel. No longer do I have to resort to jamming a screwdriver in the teeth or other primitive methods. So this gets a good score for that. However, I believe a small change in how the tool is made would make it a lot stronger. If you look closely at the pictures, you might see how the "rack" is welded on to the frame. It is welded in such a way that half of the rack hangs off the side. I am not an engineer, so I don't know if the real life use would make a difference, but I'm imagining a frozen set of bolts that you are really reefing on to break loose might be enough to break it off or bend it.When I looked at the pictures online, it really looked like anodized aluminum to me, and it even looked that way when I got it, so I actually tested it with a magnet and I can gladly say it is most definitely iron. So kudos to the people powder coating it, they did an absolutely outstanding job on the finish.
