My husband is a heavy equipment operator. While we do have a transfer tank in the bed of the pickup, we like to keep a fuel drum at home or have the extra fuel with us when we are on a project more than 50 miles from town. Before getting this chain lift, loading or unloading a full drum required keeping it tied down to a palate and using the forks on the skid steer. Or fill the transfer tank and then empty it into the drum which takes a while.This drum lift has made dealing with a full fuel drum so much easier. Sometimes he is operating equipment in an area where we cannot take the pickup. This saves the time of walking the equipment back to the road to refuel, which wastes fuel. Now, he can lift the drum from the pickup and take it with him for large fuel-intensive jobs.After we received this ($63.99 at time of review) he looked at all the components and said that he would not be able to make one for less. The lifting clamps alone are over $60 each.Whether it is water, fuel, stain, oil, or something else, make your life easier and get this chain lift. It can be lifted with a fork or hook. The quality of the entire lifter is great. This will stand up to regular use. Definitely, durability you can count on.

So far, they seem to be some-what well made. We'll be testing the durability at the weight they suggest. I'm not sure about the 2204lbs they claim after viewing the chains and I'd hate to find out the hard way lifting a drum of race fuel. I would definitely have been more confident if the item wasn't covered in grease. REALLY ANNOYED when I put my hands on the item!

Fit a standard fork and works well. I might shorten the chain but other than that it’s a big help moving and loading oil drums.
