This twine is nice, strong twine, easy to tie and easy to cut, and perfect for your tomatoes. As another reviewer mentioned, it DOES fade within a week or two, but I didn't buy it because it was green, I bought it because I wanted a decent twine for my tomatoes.Definitely recommended.EDIT 5/31/13: I've used this for a couple of weeks and it works fine on the tomatoes. However, it is a weak tensile twine and is pretty much useless for anything else. I was trying to use it to tie some bundles of irrigation pipe together in my potting shed and each time I'd go to tie it, it would break. So this is good for the tomatoes but this is NOT general twine you can use for other things.

DESCRIPTIONA strong tough but soft brown twine which is ideal for tying up plants, or any other uses for twine. Comes in a convenient "tin" dispenser can. The "fraying" rustic look may be good for some craft projects or tying up gifts. This is NOT butcher's (or cooking) twine, and should NOT be used for cooking. For cooking use: COMPARED TO ORIDINARY JUTE TWINEOrdinary jute is more brittle and less flexible, and therefore not as easy to tie knots with. Luster Leaf is soft and easy to tie.BIODEGRADABLEA presumed feature of this twine is that (compared to wire, nylon twine, or plastic cable ties) it is "biodegradable", i.e., by the time your plant is established the twine will rot rather than constricting the growth of the plant. If you want the twine to hold for more than a year, you might consider some stronger and/or non-biodegradable material.DISPENSER CAN> True, the built in cutter is not terribly sharp, but it does work, just "saw" the twine back and forth. You can sharpen it in just a minute or two with a metal file or with a rotary stone and your Dremel tool.> You can attach the can to your belt (or belt loop) with a 6" bungy. > The lid of the can is not too tight and can be bumped off. This is easily fixed by slightly mashing the lid (take it off the can first) to make the fit tighter. Alternatively, you can tape the lid on with blue painters tape. The tape is easily removable and reusable. REFILLYou can refill the despenser can with . However, it is cheaper to buy the twine with the dispenser can: $8 for the can with 325' of twine works out to 2.4 cents per foot. The refill at 200' for $6 is 3 cents per foot.> Click on “Stoney†just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Love the cute little can and the natural quality. It sheds a bit, so do it over a washable surface. It is perfect for my project and then some.

I purchased this product to use with my tomato plants, which I string up using tomato clips. Five of my 20 tomato plants have fallen due to the twine lines breaking (a 25% fail rate). If you want to use this product with tomato clips, then I'd suggest that you double or triple ply the clip lines so the twine can handle the weight of fruiting vines. For some reason, my initial review was deemed contrary to the community guidelines. I read them and didn't see anything that would cause my review to not be posted. Go figure.

This was a breeze to use! No.more trying to not cut my finger when I pulled out enough green wire to do my garden plants up for support, I wish it had been thicker but for its thinness it still does prettybwell.on holding up tomato plants, zucchini plants and eggplant. ( I grow the eggplant for some friends, can't stand it myself..lol).

I used this twine for stringing peas and morning glories on two wide 3-piece conduit pipe trellises. With the reel, I could quickly and easily roll out identical seven-foot lengths of twine on my dining room table--no tangling, no dropping--and then tie them close together to the top of my trellises and secure them at the bottom to a wide length of plastic-twister. I loved the dark green color which gave me an attractive, privacy fence along my backyard all summer. A low-cost solution, which my neighbors admired.

I've gotten these before at my local hardware store but couldn't find this year. My spouse actually wanted the natural but the green color is fine. The dispenser and built in cutter work fine.

I bought this to try using the Florida trellis method with T-posts for my tomatoes this year. Never again for this product, although the T-posts are great. From the first attempt to tie this, it snapped and frayed, and then after just 2-3 weeks I had pieces of it snapping and breaking the trellis lines all over the place. I found a roll of old fabric edging that my grandfather used to use that survives the entire summer season and I've gone back to that every time a piece of this twine bites the dust. A shame, I had really hoped this would hold up!

Perhaps I was asking too much of this product. I used it to trellis a beefsteak tomato plant that produced a heavy crop and it proved to be unable to support the weight. Oversight on my part likely, but worth noting.

Delivery time was bad. £30 for some twine, I expected decent quality but it is rubbish and rots after a short time in use in the garden.

I keep this in my gardening bag. I left it in the bag (with just the top cut open) to keep it from unravelling over time.I've only used it so far to help stake my tomato plants earlier, but if you're a gardening, you know you need this stuff lying around in your shed and/or garage. Lol.It was $7.49 when I bought it in July, but I see now that at the time of this review it's $9.34.I was happy to find it on amazon, and as a Prime item, as it saved me a trip wandering through a hardware store for a ball of twine. Lol.

It’s twine. It’s green. It’s everything I hoped for.
