This is a good choice for a table pad protector. It's not thin or flimsy, and you can cut it to fit your table if necessary. I have an oval dining table and was not able to find an oval pad to buy, so I bought this instead, laid it on the table and cut around with scissors. Easy to do.

Recommended by our Expert Furniture Repairman to keep our heirloom dining room table safe. He was right - this product is EXCELLENT! Am buying another!Update - just bought two more today. After six months, our beautiful Tommy Bahama dining table, which we use three times a day every day, shows absolutely NO WEAR due to this wonderful tablecloth. We have started to use silicone trivets underneath hot plates, but probably do not need them. We will be rotating out the tablecloths once per week instead of every two weeks so that the tablecloths see less wear and compression. Our dining room table should now outlast us!Update - We just ordered another, and found strange black fibers woven into the underside. Be aware of this, since it may scratch the surface of your table. We reordered, and the replacement was like the five others that we ordered. I hope the manufacturer sees this and takes action on this deviation.

We have a beautiful dining room table, but it doesn't have an extra hard kid-proof surface. My husband was afraid the grandkids would destroy it when they came to live with us. So I found this heat-resistant table cloth protector and got it immediately. I usually put a tablecloth over the top. They say it "looks nice enough" not to need a tablecloth, but the three year old already redecorated it with permanent marker. Also, the ridged pattern makes it hard to wipe crumbs off it. But putting it over the table, under a table cloth works perfectly! My table top is protected.

I like the weight of this item but, after 3 weeks, there are persistent wrinkles and I'm unsure how to remove them. Our tablecloth for the holidays did thankfully do a fairly good job of disguising the wrinkles, but they were obviously there. If the wrinkles were not an issue, this would definitely be rated a 5. Perhaps I will find a solution and will update later. Thanks.

Bought this to cover my Tasmanian Oak dining table, as much as you try to keep it looking good, other people don't seem to worry, after having people putting things on it that could scratch it, & me gritting my teeth, I decided to get this cover. Which looks great & does the job. Would recommend.

I like the color and with grand children it helps to keep the table good.And when I have company I can put a table cloth over it
