M.2 NVME SSD Convert Adapter

Upgrade your nVME SSD

This is a convert adapter only. It does not have any firmware inside. All your SSD performance will not limit by this convert adapter. You can enjoy the maximum performance and capacity with your new SSD.

M.2 NVME SSD Convert Adapter

Easily install

You only need to combine our adapter card with the new hard disk, and replace the previous hard disk with this new combination.

M.2 NVME SSD Convert Adapter

Another option

For some machines with limited internal space, you can choose the short card version.

How to use

  • Make sure to install the High Sierra on your old drive, so that a newer firmware is installed that can handle NVME.
  • For your old driver, please do a full backup via Time Machine.
  • Create a High Sierra Installer on a bootable USB stick.
  • Open the MacBcook and disconnect the battery while switching out the drive and make sure both adapter and new SSD sit snug.
  • Reconnect the battery before closing the shell.
  • Insert the Installer USB stick from step 2, and press the option key while the machine starts.
  • Finally, once it's up you can now go to the disk utils to format and install the MAC OS.

Some advice

  • You are kindly reminded that macOS failed on resume from hibernating with some NVME SSDs of some brands. Have to turn off laptop all the time instead of close the lid and go.
  • Please insert our adapter fully into SSD slot and you must prepare bootable USB disk (see third point) with High Sierra to format M.2 SSD first, it can't support recover from internet.
  • There are many customers can use it, so we suggest you to try it again if your MAC can't detect nVME SSD.

I purchased this along with an internal SSD to upgrade my 121GB SSD. I just had to place it once, slide in the SSD and after using the boot installer, the Macbook Air was reading the SSD no adjustments needed. Currently using the Macbook Air with no issues.Used for model A1466 Macbook Air 13' Early 2015.

Happy to report great success with early 2015 MBA and 1TB Samsung SSD 980... after reading the instructions. The seller is correct--the new drive will not be recognized by internet recovery. Make the bootable install USB the first time and save yourself the hassle. Some points to note:-so far the computer recovers from sleep when lid is closed and opened-drive shows up with TRIM support without the need to force TRIM-consider getting the short version to use with the the above listed drive; I expanded the mounting hole slightly so that the standoff was nested in it and the factory screw engaged the drive, not the adapter-1 star taken off due to lack of description regarding the screwdriver that comes with kit; it is a small Philips, not the requisite pentalobe 5 necessary for getting into my MacBook Air
