These roughly 1.5" long Stainless steel thimbles are smooth, hefty. Magnet doesn't stick, stainless. Smooth, high sided channels, good cable bevel at the ends. These will work great for my summer trellising projects. I'm using 1/8th inch Stainless cable, poles and these thimbles to create free standing rose trellis areas in my gardens. We are in a potential hurricane area, so all my rigging has to be able to be dismantled and taken inside in the event of storm. Using these thimbles, I can slip the cables off the poles, pull through the bushes. Laying the rose bushes on their sides for the storm and taking the poles and cables inside. That's the plan anyway. We will see how it goes. I'll update this review if needed, but these thimbles look great, are the perfect size, and are hefty enough to do the job.

You will never get a 1/4" wire rope to bend such a tight radius. It should be about twice the size.

How much can you really say about such a simple product? Not too much, but out of the box they look very nice and there is zero rust on the 4 that I have put up outside, on a wires bracing a fence, after about 4 weeks. They are a little difficult to pry apart for my application where I was attaching a cable to a closed loop on turnbuckles and had to open the thimble some to slip it inside the loop. However, that is evidence that they are actually stainless steel construction since it tends to be much tougher to bend then mild steel. So, these work just fine for my application. If there is any issue in the next several months, I will update this review, but just fine so far.

I ordered these M6 Stainless Steel Thimbles for several cable projects around the house. In particular, hanging a support cable on our deck for a set of string lights. Also, for a cable “fence†with flags and carabiners attached at the ends to delineate parking areas on a large gravel lot. These will work perfect in that application. I think this is a really good value for what you get and I’m glad I found them!Recommended!
