works great! I'm writing this review after 2 years of owning this and it has completed many gilding jobs, and still looks like new!all you gotta do is take care of it properly and this is well worth the money!

The brush hairs did not attract the real gold leaf by static electricity as expected. It was useless for the purpose. I did not try it with imitation gold leaf.The “handle†that holds the brush hairs is just cardboard. I now understand the low price.

This brush is useable but it is so thin that the hairs are not densely packed so they don't catch the gold as well as a denser brush and they are more likely to tear the gold when picking it up. It works adequately for most purposes, but not ideal for fine work.
