You seriously need ear plugs when you are in areas where the noise is loud. For me, I use these on a pistol range or watching specialty competition. They work really well blocking out the loud sounds.The main reason I carry a whole box of Mack's soft foam ear plugs, is for my friends who decide to come along to watch at the last minute...and are never prepared. Not something you carry if you don't think about how the sound will affect your eardrums.I have given away half of these already, and my friends really appreciate having them. Good quality.

I bought this set for the canister. I use Mack earplugs for their effectiveness and comfort. I bought this smaller quantity to get the little canister so I can have a spare set of earplugs in my pocket without picking up any pocket lint.

These plugs work great for blocking out loud noises. Have used them in movie theaters and at live music venues. The case, however, has come unscrewed from the cap several times while attached to my keychain, resulting in its loss.
