I got this because I was doing a green accent for my entire office and love the slight green accent. I love the sound quality. It is a nice sound bar and delivers quality sound. Setup was simple, just plug it right in. Performs well and is a great value. Fits perfectly beneath my monitor. Again though, I bought it because of the brightness of the green colored accents.

First of all, the product image was a little misleading. It wasn't clear if this was the sound bar, the two speakers, or both, so let me clear it up. It's just the sound bar. That said, it's exactly what you'd expect a Mackie product to be. Solidly built, loud, not too big to fit under or in front of your computer monitor, has decent presets out of the box, and was easy to setup. Easy to use, too. Switching from computer to Bluetooth was no problem.Personally, I thought all the presets were too boomy out of the box, so I used an EQ on my computer and ran pink noise through it while measuring with an RTA meter. Once I got the EQ curve adjusted how I like it, it started to really shine.

for the price this is listed at and the add on sub that you have to pay extra you would think it would be at the same level as other similar listed computer speakers. If you are going from 10 dollar computer speakers they are worth it, but in my case i currently have the steelseries arena 7 that actually came out a couple dollars under the mackie set. the sound quality was no where near the steelseries. The loudness was there and the bass was equal to the steelseries if not a bit better, but the sound quality was not there. The speakers were not as crisp and sounded a bit distorted, now i dont know if i got faulty speakers, but coming from a good known speaker manufacture it just wasn't it.

I like BMR drivers, had high hopes for this sound bar, the problem is that its a decent speaker let down by poor amplification and EQ. Now I got this for about $90 on black friday, so theres that to take into consideration, MSRP $200. At higher output it has some serious noise floor issues after like 45% volume. I cant imagine anyone paying $200 retail for this given the issues that it has at that level of amplification. Decent modern class D amps that are cheap should still be better than whatever is is driving this bar. Im using USB in, but i get cleaner signal using the analog 3.5mm input. So maybe the issue is also within the pre-amp section as well.As for the EQ this has a significant bass hump out of the box and the best making things sound boomy, the best mode is going to be the voice/communication EQ which is the flattest response. The bar plays loud but unfortunately soundstage isnt as wide as most BMRs. I think its good concept but poor execution. Would be nice to see some more EQ ability and response graphs so we can generate out own EQs. Frankly put I think mackie didnt spend enough time tweaking these w/ DSP before selling it.

being a big fan of Mackie for decades, I had very high expectations of this speaker. This is totally a scam, a $50 pc bar may sound about the same. There are No thrills, no high volumes, no bass, there is absolutely nothing special about this bar. Giving the fact of it's high price (around $200), it is not worth it.

Good performing desktop Mackie speakers. I like that the speakers are encased in a solidly constructed housing. Was easy to set up using Bluetooth, in fact, the sound bar does not even have to be on the desk top. It can be put on a shelf. It does look attractive on my desk and angles upward to put your ears right in the sweet spot.It would not be fair of me to remove a star simply because the bass is not deep enough for my liking. The Mackie soundbar performs as I would expect from this brand and is not meant to replace a subwoofer, but rather, offers the upgradeability to enhance the audio experience. Pairing the CR2-X with another brand of subwoofer worked fine for me (wired). The only issue I have is that the sound bar requires an AC outlet for the sub and one for the sound bar, other than that it sounds fantastic and is easy to use /adjust.

Sound bars are a great way to get big audio in places where there isn't enough room for traditional speakers. Instead of two speakers, or three including a bass speaker, you get one long bar that houses multiple speakers. Technology allows for simulated surround sound effects that fool your ears into thinking that sounds are coming from places where there are no speakers. It works really well. It also costs a lot less than a full multi-speaker setup would. It is the quintessential win-win situation. This soundbar looks great and produces great audio. It is well made with a sturdy and durable construction that will be good for years of use. It is a good buy, and one that you will be happy with. 5 stars.
