Fish the northeast and use these primarily for bass but have caught trout, walleye, and pike. While not an expert with the NED rig I’m accustomed to using it.These are on par with other more popular brands of lead versions of this jig head(Z-man, etc). These are a viable alternative to more expensive versions of you plan to throw around cover that leads to break offs.Fished several days with these and caught several 3lb largemouth and smallmouth. I was initially concerned with the poor reviews of them. After fishing with these, and not to say there aren’t a few bad ones here are there, these are passable. I can see breaking hooks, loose jig heads, etc if you are power fishing. NEDs are finesse and I had no issues fishing on lighter line and using the drag on my spinning reel. If you are looking to power fish or muscle a Ned rig then gambler lures makes a larger, stronger jig head that can be fishing on heavy baitcaster or spinning tackle. These are a cost effective approach to a technique I occasional throw on tough days.

These work really well. The hook is hard enough to land a big fish but will bend if you get snagged so you didn't lose the jig.

I've used Owner Blockheads exclusively but they are getting hard to find in 1/8oz or 1/4oz sizes. These Madbite heads are perfect, except the hook WILL bend out on bigger bass. The hook wire needs to be heavier gauge or made of stronger material. You have a very well built and usable product but losing fish won't help future sales.

I’ve been very pleased with the MadBite Tungsten Ned Rig jigs since Day 1!!.. Fit and Finish are excellent, great bait keeper and sharp hooks… I really appreciate having a tungsten option to help my old hands “feel the bottom “ better as well as getting good hook sets… Try’em n you’ll like ‘em!!

I throw some plastic baits on mine And catch a mix of different fish. Small mouth, large mouth, crappie, and even hooked one northern. I used some small white swim baits for the northern, with a darker shade of one of these guys.

Price is right but these hooks and the wire keepers are made out of very light wire. The definitely have their place with lighter tackle and line (4-6 lb) but a lively fish over two pounds or a hook set with a medium/medium heavy power rod would likely bend them out. Wire keepers hold soft plastics well but are easily bent and can alter the presentation so you have to check to make sure everything is still straight before each cast.

I caught close to 300 fish this past Fri/sat, everything from tons of rock bass, bluegill, walleye and smallies, BIG smallies(20"). i went through probably 10 hooks, (we were fishing in rocks and downed trees on the river), my buddy was using standard ned heads and went through 30+ lolololol. I've been wondering how the hooks would hold up to trophy-sized fish, especially a hard-fighting, hard-hitting river Smalley, and I found out when a bull 20" Smalley fought for 10 minutes and I landed him......no damage to the hook. Buy these with confidence, they are not a cheap alternative to expensive name-brand tackle. my bass club is going up north to a big Smalley lake this coming weekend and I'm counting on these hooks to make me some money.

These things are junk. Don’t waste your money. There is not enough room between the bend in the hook and the weight.

The wire used on these hooks is too fine , a large fish will straighten these hooks.
