I use this several times a week. It fits both sizes of Made In pots, it works well, and it is easy to clean.

With the photo, I had hoped the stepped side would accommodate both my 8 and 10 inch wide stock pots. The photo shows 7 3/4 inch across the bottom. It's actually 8 1/4 inch at that point.

This makes it so easy to both retain the pasta water and strain out your pasta. You will need to use more water to cover the pasta than you would without the insert. That means slightly longer times to get the water to a boil. In my opinion, the convenience is worth the little extra time.
