I really like the concept of this toy but I have it 4 stars because I feel the magnet is almost too strong for a pre-schooler to smoothly move over over the letters. Otherwise it’s a high quality and a unique way to work on writing and identifying lettters.

It takes a little more strength and precision than a toddler could possibly possess to really make this work well. He'll be in kindergarten before he can use it. Not the end of the world, but it is advertised for ages 3 and up. My nephew needed more room between the letters, the magnetic pencil was uncomfortable to hold and it needed to be pushed down harder than he could.
