Designed to fit 1.5 mL centrifuge tubes with conical bottoms, this separator uses the strongest neodymium magnets available to quickly and effectively pull magnetic beads from your sample suspension. Depending on the viscosity of your suspension, it takes seconds to a couple of minutes to clear the solution from the magnetic beads.

The name brand magnetic racks price is $784. This one was $60 and it works as good as the original magnetic rack. The only thing to be aware is that the magnets are not glued and extremely strong. If scissors came close to them they can get off from the rack.

This works faster than the rack we bought from the official scientific suppliers. Placemnt+magnets is way better. The rack may be a little snug if you put printed labels around the tubes, but I imagine the slots could loosen a little as we use them. A+.

I have tested this magnetic rack with DynaBeads (MyOne Streptavidin, 1 um diameter) and this rack separates them very rapidly and completely from solution. Design is simple but effective. Could have spent $500+ on essentially the same product from a major scientific supplier, but I'm glad I gave this a try.

This is a 3D printed rack but it works just fine and the quality appears to be pretty good. The position of the magnets gives a lot of surface area for beads to stick to.
