This metal post is exceptionally sturdy and securely anchored on a concrete surface with a steel base. Remember, you've to buy the base separately to hold it down. Most importantly, with this metal post, I don't have to worry about wood rot causing the mailbox to topple.

We bought the mailboxes, the 2 box spreader & the post. The post is too short & you have to bend over to see inside the box. It arrived promptly and it does its job supporting the mailboxes. I just wish it was about 8 inches taller so I could see directly into the mail boxes!

The Mailboss Surface Mount Post is a very high quality post for Mailboss mailboxes. It’s best if you can find someone to install it professionally as the post can be heavy for some users.Pros:1) Sturdy.2) Durable.3) Nice design.4) Fits precisely with Mailboss mailboxes, no problem.Cons:1) Requires an intermediate level installation skill.

This post is the correct one for a curb mount mail box. It is powder coated and heavy duty. It has 4 holes drilled on 2 sides which line up with the base mount plate. The Mail Boss mailbox bolts to the top of this 27 inch post and puts it at the correct height per USPS regulations for a curb or surface mount mailbox. I called the company and they were helpful in providing the information. The letter carrier then confirmed it. I highly recommend the Mail Boss.

Thought it was a bit short at first, but when you take into account the size of the mailbox and the curb height from the street, then it is spot on for the height.
