First time buying this case and it looks high quality and resistant. Very easy to mount and connects perfectly.I had to choose a cheaper option and ended up being my favorite one so perfect price/quality.The screw size is normal and fits perfectly.Functional for sure.

There is zero air circulation thru this enclosure. My Gen3 M.2 got too warm for my comfort level with the enclosure cover in the closed position. I slid the inside piece out and things cooled down to an acceptable level. And my Gen3 is the slower variety that transfers files at around 1200Mbps. And it still got too hot for my liking. The provided "heat-sink & thermal pad" are absolutely useless inside this enclosure. I think I'll save them for another adventure. It's really easy to slide the middle out for cooling purposes before use, but it doesn't seem like it should be this way. Also the M.2 retainer "screw" is a crumbly piece of pseudo rubber. It will not last, good thing they give you three of them (wonder why?). I do not have a Gen4 or Gen5 M.2 to test in this enclosure but, I have no doubt it is capable of amazing transfer speeds. The controller chip they use is plenty fast, it's just the lack of ventilation and the poorly executed hold down 'screw' that gets it only three stars from me. I may eventually just drill a bunch of holes thru the outer aluminum cover to gain some circulation and see if that helps. If I do, I'll update.

Samsung magician wouldn't detect a 980 pro nvme m.2 SSD.The Samsung migration tool however did.Mounting bracket is plastic. Case is aluminum. Included 2 heat strips but no instructions on how to install them.Seems to work. Windows 11 reports it as being through a scsi interface. That may be the laptop not the device."Realtek USB 3.2 device scsi disk device""USB attached scsi (UAS) mass storage device"Gets pretty hot.

It's kind of large, but with the right cable (just because something is USB-C doesn't mean it has the extra wires for high-speed data transfer) it does exactly what's promised. Easy enough to open and swap out devices, too.
