About this item

  • HOW TO USE THE SAFE-SAW: Reverse the tool to punch holes as a cutting guide-line if you need. The graded serrations allow you to easily saw any thickness of cardboard with a forward and backwards motion.
  • VERSATILE AND STRONG: Cardboard is a readily available, free and unlimited building block that can be folded, sawed and hole-punched while maintaining its durability. Better still, it can be reused and recycled.
  • EXPAND YOUR TOOLKIT: Makedo facilitates educational fun while keeping our planet green and reducing carbon footprints. Ideal for collaborative creative environments such as the playroom at home, classrooms, museums and after school programs.
  • NO SHARP EDGES: Steel blade designed to swiftly saw cardboard, not fingers.
  • STEM AND STEAM LEARNING: The awesomeness of Makedo is that children learn by doing, creating, and experimenting! With Makedo’s reusable cardboard construction tools, kids aged 4+ can build anything they imagine.

This is perfect for 5+ year olds, up to whatever age you’ll be ready to trust them with a sharp knife or scissors. Since cutting cardboard is challenging, it will be a while before I let my grandkids use either of those options for this purpose. In the meantime, this little tool works very well. It takes some elbow grease, but they achieve their goals and create all sorts of interesting things with my empty Amazon boxes.

Much safer than a razor knife. I can let my son cut cardboard by himself. Takes a minute to learn, but very effective. I feel much better as no worry about cut fingers or needing such close supervision.

We are so excited to start building. This tool cuts cardboard well but safe for little hands.

I purchased the saws for my in-home childcare kiddos to be able to use on the cardboard boxes after they color and paint them. I felt very safe letting them use these and they worked pretty well in their small hands as they are preschoolers. It seemed like a pretty big investment to make for me since they are $10 each, but they seem to be holding up well and I should get a few years of use out of them.

I feel completely comfortable letting my students use these. They do not work great. If you need precision this is not the tool for you.

Super safe, easy to use, my youngest students were able to use this cutting tool with very little demonstration. Much easier than other tools I’ve tried with students for cardboard like emt scissors and even power rotary cutters!

Hard to turn when cutting but works great otherwise

We have three very active and imaginative boys, and the makedo saws + pile of delivery boxes kept them busy for hours, especially our preschooler. Any item that can keep him busy for hours is a win! We will be purchasing more for my classroom for sure.

My kids shredded all the empty boxes from Christmas in minuts. Now they need new boxes to build the boxfort 😂

I bought this after seeing my 6 year old grandson using his for crafting. I use it to cut up cardboard boxes for recycling. It’s safe and does an excellent job.
