Without this I would never be able to mix such wonderful clay combinations - I use this to add foil flakes after I have mixed the colors. Coupled with the Makins pasta machine - you are all set. Use the Makins clay machine with this as it is 2 inches wider than most of the others. I love the speed choices - well thought out will work with many machines!! LOVE IT LOVE IT

I ordered this because I use a lot of clay, the description did not mention the 2 little pins on the side that have to fit into holes on the pasta machine in order to work, none of the other pasta machines have these holes except for Makins, which in my expreience is not a very well made machine. At present the motor is duck taped to my pasta machine in order to use it. had I known that I probably would not have ordered this brand. I am not even sure Amazon carries any other brands.I would not recommend purchasing this motor unless you are getting the same brand pasta machine so that it fits properly.

So far I like it very much I'm a little concerned about the way it hangs off side but it has taken conditioning down to minutes thank you

This works beautifully. One of those tools you don't realize how much you needed until you get it. Reference books I have say clay is not properly conditioned until it makes 20 "fold and passes" through a clay machine (pasta machine) Needless to say this cuts down on the time. Also faster color blending and Skinner blends.

Pro: Got this machine because I could not stand using my hands to knead hard clays anymore. I have arthritis and it hurts really bad. I used to get blisters kneading clay. So that was why I got this machine to help me out.Con: Extremely noisy machine. I could not use this machine when the baby or husband is sleeping. I have to wait for a good time. So it is inconvenience not having the freedom to use this machine whenever I want to because of the VERY LOUD noise that it makes. This machine is extremely picky. I CANNOT use this motor with any other clay machine or pasta machine. I had to get the Makin's Professional Clay Machine along with this machine as well to be able to use the motor with it. So the 2 combo machines does ring up a bit pricey. The machine feels a little flimsy for a motor. And it is made in China so of course it was built cheaply.Conclusion: Even though it does not work as well as I would like it to, I am still planning to keep this machine. It helps me a little with kneading clay because my arthritis is too painful. I do recommend trying out this machine if you have the health problems that I do. Or don't want to manually knead clay anymore. Your experience may be different than mine.

Works as advertised, although the motor wobbles a bit on the thin casing of the clay machine when you run clay through it. I really think ithe pins are going to wear/pull off when lots of use. Giving it only two stars because the thing only comes with a 60 day warranty. 60 days...? Makes me think they don't have much confidence in it holding up and this thing was not cheap. For what I paid for it seems like a longer warranty would be in order. Had I known this when I bought it I would have opted for the Amazon replacment warranty.

I dont know why I didn't get this sooner!!! This motor is wonderful for use with the Makins clay pasta machine. Saves lots of hand work and I can condition my clay much faster. The two different speeds are a plus. Love it and I plan on getting alot of use out of it.
