Your cart is empty.The Makita 14" Guide Bar is a commercial guide bar. It has a laminated body and is designed for use with low profile chains for increased cutting efficiency. The slim contour provides less weight and increased maneuverability. The small radius sprocket nose reduces the potential for kickback compared to standard-size noses. A narrow kerf helps the saw chain move through cuts faster than a standard kerf. It is ideal for use with Makita LXT Cordless Chain Saws (XCU02, XCU03, XCU04, XCU07, XCU08, and XCU09, sold separately), Gas Chain Saws (EA3200SRBB, EA3201SRBB, EA3500SRDB, EA3601FRDB, and EA4300FRDB, sold separately), and Corded Chain Saws (UC3551A and UC4051A, sold separately).

Tip of old guide bar broke down somehow… only realised when i noticed sparks flying and smoking under use - Safety Stop!This replacement worked perfectly. Problem sorted, work continues

I have been using a bar that was 0.043 gauge (factory bar). I’m cutting honeysuckle (bushy/brushy) that get pretty big (9â€+ diameter). I was throwing (and destroying) the chain pretty often. With the 0.050 gauge bar (and chain) the chain does not get thrown as often and when it does, it is not as often damaged (not yet after many hours). With the 043 chain I was destroying a chain every couple hours. For bucking logs on a sawbuck I still use the 043 because I never lose the chain bucking logs.
