I bought this to make relief cuts in upholstery vinyl; it works great. Makes clean cuts without leaving any "hanging chads". If it opened a little more it would be a little easier to use. (I have not actually tried it on metal.) Good quality, well made tool.

I bought these to cut and bend 1†bends on standing seem roofing. They sure saved a lot of time. All you have to do is slide them in all the way, cut, and you have a 1†deep small v notch. Great brand too!

Works great, but not like the old school notchers. Don't attempt to try heavy gauge metal. 16g and under is great for these.
