I panic bought these so I could cloth diaper my newborn and they turned out to be amazing! They worked great covering flats for my 7lb 10oz newborn. We've moved up to using microfiber inserts with the shells and they still work great. Never had a blowout and only one instance I can think of where there was maybe a leak while in a car seat. I highly recommend these shells and watch the review/how to use video in the listing - I found it helpful on what you can use with these shells.

Mama Koala was the first brand I was interested in while researching cloth diapering, and I never see a need to go with any other brand ever again. The small covers are perfect for tiny babies, my baby was pretty petite and didn't grow out of the small for quite a few months. I was also using 24 pocket diapers. So I'd use the inserts that came with the pockets with the covers as well. Once she got a little bigger, I got the Alva baby covers for nighttime (those are a one size cover). Long story short, the Alva covers are nice, but I decided to give them to my sister in law with some flats I had so she can try out cloth diapering. I then ordered the medium size covers in Mama Koala, and man, I just forgot how nice this brand is. The MK covers feel nicer and softer and more comfortable on my baby than the Alva Baby. You can feel the quality difference, and the MK look much cuter. I can't use pockets for nighttime because my baby breastfeeds often still at night and pockets can't hold all the inserts, so we use two MK inserts (sometimes 2 of the the 5 later bamboo, or sometimes the 4 layer, doesn't really matter imo which ones), and in between we use 3 newborn bamboo Alva Baby inserts. This is our foolproof nighttime setup in covers while she sleeps 10 to 11 hours a night. I only wish Mk made the alva baby newborn style inserts because they are so thin and absorbant, and they are perfect as boosters as well during the day.

I like these covers, they are perfect for beginners. Super cute for value. Comfortable and durable. But not for chunky thighs!!
