Brand Information

SCHNECKE

  • Provider of Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor products to the worldwide OEM market and aftermarket.
  • SCHNECKE offers complete Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor coverage for Asian, Domestic and European vehicles.

MAP sensors can be mounted directly onto the intake manifold or mounted remotely with a vacuum hose going to the intake manifold. This sensor is a major contributor to fuel injector pulse width and ignition and valve timing, reporting engine load to the engine computer.

CAUSE FOR REPLACEMENT

  • Check engine lamp illumination
  • Engine hesitation
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Failed emissions test
  • Engine stalling
  • Extended crank time

3

PURPOSE

The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor determines the intake manifold pressure or vacuum

6

FUNCTION

  • Sends voltage signal to the ECM which changes with the varying pressure/vacuum within the intake manifold
  • ECM uses signal to determine engine load and ensure proper air/fuel ratio

7

POSITION

Intake manifold, throttle body or remote mounted under hood

We used to do a lot of performance, custom electronic for performance and special applications. Everything was tested. This may sensor was also tested. Here are the results if anyone is interested. The Map works perfectly averages a few Hz within the application specifies of the original ford Unit . It was installed on a 2.3 l Ranger truck. to cover all Vehicles described.the very tiny difference in Frequency may be to cover all the Vehicles listed. Tested at @ 5.0v regulated 50.0 % duty cycle rock solid thru the range. )Vacuum reading and Hz. NEW: 0,160Hz 10, 41Hz 12, 131 Hz 15,124 Hz-17, 113Hz 20,107Hz 22, 97Hz. FORD original: Vacuum and Hz 0 156 Hz, 10 130Hz 12 124Hz, 15 116Hz, 17 109Hz, 18 105Hz, 20 101, Hz 22 90Hz. Readings were very close to cover all Vehicles product application listed and the new unit worked better eliminated slight hesitation at tip in.It is critically important that the Vacuum supply hose going to the map sensors is solid and not flimsy where it may suck shut or kink, No leaks and connected to the right port for the

Had a slight hesitation, replaced with this exact fit and in less than two minutes installation my issue was resolved and that I had two mechanics could not find the last two summers. Sno bird to Az this past winter and smooth cruising once again.

Quality was not there I sealed the back end where it wouldn't take on water and did do its job
I'll be honest

The nipple instantly broke I didn't even get a chance to bolt it onto the van yet. I guess you get what you pay for.

My '90 F-250 started shutting down like it was out of Gas and gradually got worse. First I changed the Fuel Filter coming from the dual tanks.. Then The Engine Fuel Control valve (I think)... which made the engine crank again but then Immediately shut down... Then I saw info that pointed to this M.A.P. Sensor and finally replaced this between bouts of weather,Family Holiday outings and some sick days (I'm 67) . The engine cranks, keeps running and I was able to drive it and get some Premium Gas for it and move it to the back yard to work on. I'll clean restore it a little at a time..Pacing myself..but I'll get there!

I put this in my 96 Volvo Penta 5.0FI marine engine. It made a difference! I think I have some other sensors or issues still going on, but the engine will start up and run again!
