The chime box is located at the bottom of the clock. Turn the clock upside down to see it. Chime Box volume is adjustable from low to high. You will also find

First - the trick to setting up clock and synchronizing chimes to clock hands. There are two sets of battery packs one for the clock hands and one for the chimes. With no batteries in the clock, set the clock hands to 5:10 (the clock and chimes mechanism will assess this setting to be 5:10 a.m.) then put the batteries in the clock battery pack and wait until the second hand reaches 12. Take a battery out of this pack to stop the hamd precisely at 12:00. Next put the second battery set into the chime battery pack. Remember the clock thinks it's 5:10 a.m. now. So, using the adjustment knob on the back of the clock set the time to your correct time. If your current time is in the p.m. you will have to move the hour hand around at least 12 hours to let the mechanism know it is now p.m. time. Finally, put the battery back into the clock power pack and you're done.Review: I am enjoying the clock. My Grandmother had a clock that would chime in her house and it just brings back that little nostalgia for me. Aesthetically, from the front view, it looks good. From the back it's a little plastic regarding the clock works and chimes mechanism so if that might bother you think about it. In conclusion I would buy it again. Hope this helps someone.

I had some challenge with getting the chimes set on correct hours, but the seller was available and very helpful in getting the clock set up properly. They sent instructions sheets before the clock’s arrival, and then some customized instructions for me to use. Very pleased now.

Difficult to set it so that the chimes match the time. Followed the instructions and did it several times, before we were able to get it chiming correctly. But the clock is beautiful and sounds nice, now that it is running properly.

Wanted the Westminster chimes and it delivers. I use the quarter-hour option. The lowest volume is plenty enough. Higher volumes challenge the speaker. Surprisingly deep bell sound for the size of clock. Chimes are off from 10pm - 6am. Not adjustable but fine for me. Keeps time well.Instructions for chime setting are confusing. Ignore them. It is one push on the button for each hour forward remembering the 24-hour function.

The clock is pretty. And keeps accurate time. But trying to sync the chime to the correct hour is a nightmare, and the instructions did not help much at all. We like to think we are people with at least average intelligence, but the two of us could not get it right. We ended up turning the chime off and just having a silent clock (Not what we wanted, but by the time we realized we couldn't get the chime figured out it was too late to return)

This really is a beautiful clock and the chimes sound really nice too! I am very impressed with the customer care and how I was helped to make a small adjustment to fix a problem with the chimes! All works perfectly now and the clock keeps good time too! I’m happy I made this purchase!
