These shoes are an interesting hybrid of sneakers and business dress shoes. The man-made uppers look like leather, but with the molded white soles these are not Dad's office shoes. The shoes seemed true to size, based on my fit. Like other slip-ons, these have stiff heel counters with a slight extension (photo) to funnel your heel into the shoe, and they have elastic laces and elastic-backed gussets either side of the lace holes to ease sliding your feet in and out. One end of the elastic lace is anchored to the upper end of the tongue, the other end is hidden at the bottom of the tongue, and the tongue itself is stitched to the uppers at about its mid-point, so tension cannot be easily adjusted. The shoes fit more like loafers than like sneakers: not at risk of coming off, but not as secure as lace-ups.The shoes are quite comfortable. They are light in weight due to their materials and sneaker-like construction, and they are supportive and well-cushioned. I have worn the shoes while standing for a few hours at a time and while walking a few miles at a time, and my feet still felt fine at the end. The relaxed fit, as well as style, don't seem appropriate for more vigorous activities. The shoes had no documentation of any kind except for a "Hands free - slip on" tag and the Marc Joseph Web site and a product sticker on the box.I like the shoes. They look good and they are comfortable. The style is a personal choice. With leather-like uppers and white soles, they aren't really sneakers or dress shoes but to me their "hybrid" appearance makes them appropriate for many occasions.

This is the second pair of Marc Joseph shoes that I've ordered/owned. The first thing I'll say about Marc Joseph is that they pack/ship their shoes better than any shoe company I've dealt with, and I've purchased shoes through many manufacturers. The second thing I'll say is that they make a very smart looking shoe. These shoes not only look great, I love that I can slip them on or off with ease. We no longer wear outdoor shoes in our house, and many of our friends have adopted the same rule, so it's nice to be able to slip these on and off at the door without having to tie and untie them. These shoes also take my jeans look to a higher, more elegant level. I haven't worn these without socks, but believe one easily could and look good. I've only worn these on two occasions thus far, but I'm deducting one star from my review because I noticed the right shoe rubbed the side of my ankle some, though that could be in part due to the socks I was wearing.

Marc Joseph New York is a family-owned boutique shoe company that has been around for a while. The shoes are designed in New York City and made in Brazil. Marc Joseph New York shoes have an urban feel to them, which is a mix of formal and casual. These mock oxfords are a shoe for almost every occasion. They are slip-ons with “fake†laces. There is more engineering than just that. They have gussets alongside the tongue and thick padded rolls at the heel. This makes them walk-ins for many folks and easy-ons for the rest. The uppers are synthetic, smooth, and black. Yes, synthetic uppers—for lots of folks, that is a plus. The uppers are heat sealed to the thick, white soles. This gives them a dramatic look, which is suitable for all sorts of occasions. It should also mean that the sole and uppers won’t separate. Time will tell. The pair I ordered was true to my size. Comfortable right out of the box. The adjustments to shoe engineering that make them step-ins did not leave them sloppy on my feet.Excellent party shoes, but the aggressive grip of the soles makes them more suitable for wallflowers than for dancers. Easy on and easy off, as well as lightweight, make them great travel shoes. They are a bit stiff for long-distance driving shoes, but great passenger shoes.I like these shoes and recommend them.

I am so loving these shoes. Maybe I need to get new shoes more often, but it surprises me how much I like them. First off, they do look great, which is a nice departure for me personally. But also they are very comfortable. The slip on design is more agreeable than I expected because of the laces being in view. I’ve never really liked how casual slip on shoes look. And dress shoes that are loafers by design can often be out of place. But these are very stylistically versatile. With shoes, durability is a big issue for me. And I haven’t had them long enough to evaluate them on that “scale.â€However, I will try to remember to come back and address this after I’ve had them for a year or so. In the meantime, I think you’ll like them.

These look good, feel pretty good, and are super easy to slip into. That said, they are on the pricey side, so I would be displeased with anything less. They're great for dressing up some jeans or dressing down a suit, though there are much better people to advise on styling them than me. In terms of comfort, I wouldn't mind wearing them all day or walking a decent distance, which is great, since they're not dress shoes where I'd be willing to put up with discomfort for the sake of looks. You won't have to worry about that with these, and again, the slip-on feature is so helpful, though it does mean you can't adjust the tightness of the laces to accommodate different thicknesses of socks, which is something I do occasionally find myself needing to do. Your mileage may vary, but if you have a lot of money to drop and need shoes like this, I recommend these.
