This salt cellar is very sturdy, heavy and pleasant to look at. But as another reviewer here said - you do not want to drop this on your toe. It's a heavy piece of stoneware that looks amazing on a stone countertop. I have two salt cellars. One for the table which is a bamboo salt box that I keep filled with Maldon flake salt and now this new one sits by my stove and is full of kosher salt. Top chefs recommend having two salt cellars - one for the kitchen and one for the table. I highly recommend this salt box, both for aesthetics and functionality..

I got the salt box in white marble and the pepper box in black marble and they look great in my kitchen. They are very well made and I love the wooden top.

I love the marble base of the container. Satisfyingly heavy while still comfortable to hold. The lid didn't fit as well as I would have liked. It felt almost like they were designed separately but someone decided it was close enough. I might try and find an o-ring that will give the lid a better seal to the base

Should you purchase spice in bulk, you can store the bulk container away in the cabinet and display this attractive little cellar on the countertop!1.
