This is a perfect salter and will replace one with a screw-on-lid that worked great until we could no long unscrew the cover. This one will never have that problem as magnets keep the cover firmly in place. There is an arrow on the cover to help you line up the magnets when closing, which is a nice touch. The smooth bamboo cover can double as a cutting board and as we know, and I expect, the bamboo will last for a very long time and not absorb odors.

There are 2 tiny magnetic circles on each side of the rimmer with the help of the arrows printed on the outside its easy to see when closing the lid. The exterior is smooth and is said to be made of bamboo. It is a nice simple party utensil to keep handy that can easily be stored.

It's not fancy and you can use a dish to put salt or sugar on the rim of a glass but it is nice to have a dedicated item. I like that you can put pieces of lime in the center. There are small magnets that help keep the lid in place. I like the lid, keeps the salt clean and dry and keeps the flys away from the limes.

I love having this dish! It's always a bit weird when you pull out a real plate to salt a rim, plus it wastes a large amount of salt. This way, less salt is wasted and it looks really nice in a bar area as well!

I love this wooden margarita salt set! It keeps the gathering elevated instead of pulling out some plastic, gaudy salt set. I also love that it comes with a matching little cutting board with an indented rim along the edge to keep the lime juice from spilling over. Just brilliant!

I really like the look of this with the bamboo grain. It has little arrows to show you where the two magnets are to secure the top to the bottom, and the magnet closure males it easier to clean than those plastic ones that swing out. This is slim, making it easy to store. (I'm just keeping it under a tequila bottle, so it looks almost like a coaster.) The issue I have is that this isn't very effective for adding salt to the Mexican recycled glass tumblers which is what I make margaritas, micheladas, and palomas in. The diameter of the circle is too wide to do a dip of the cup. You have to hold the glass at an angle and rotate it. If you use wide-rimmed glasses like they use at cantina restaurants, you'll be fine. I think this would be a much higher quality product if it worked for both sizes of glassware.
