Your cart is empty.One of the most common causes of rear end component failure can be traced to the stock rear end caps. To cure this problem MW makes a replacement cap from billet steel with an increased cross section and heat treated hardware. A 12 Bolt typically only needs the drivers side cap replaced. Requires simple milling operation.

Much heavier than stock. Additional material is left on cap mating surface to machine to 3.063.You must install and accurately measure with an inside micrometer to determine amount to remove.Cap would have to go to a machine shop to be cut. I turned two round steel pieces that pressed into the counterbored holes in cap then surface ground these parallel to cap surface.Setting dial to zero on final pass.I then took the cap to Bridgeport and flycut .040" off cap surface.I then put the cap back on surface grinder and ground to a dial setting of .048".I also adjusted the original cap on right side to 3.062 using the same method. Many of these rearends are originally bored too big at the factory.Mine was 3.066. After seeing that my carrier races had spun in housing a little I quickly bought this. For street use and most strip, the original caps adjusted to 3.062 vertical clearance would be fine.As a tool&diemaker it was no problem for me to install.I think someone could put some sandpaper sheets on a smooth floor and take a few thousandths off the stock caps.Put race in housing then bolt cap over it and make sure it doesnt spin.Good luck
