Step 1：Grab a soft measuring tape or use a string and measure it with a rule afterwards.
Step 2: Measure around your dog’s neck and leave space for 2 fingers to slip between the tape and neck.

The collar is nice, but I’m returning it. It’s still too big on the smallest setting. If your dog is still growing, I would size down. I got the medium for our golden retriever. Still too big and will be for some time. But the quality looks good.

Our dog loves this pretty collar. She actually hates it when we take it off of her. This collar is cute and easy to take care of. I would recommend it for all that have furbabies.

I got this skull design print martingale style dog collar in XL for our still-growing 185-lb. Great Dane boy. While I walk him with a no-pull harness, my boyfriend won’t (I think he believes the harness looks too girly or something), so he has been using a training chain instead. That worked fine for a time, but now that our big boy has had another growth spurt, landing at around 185 lbs. and 34 inches high at the withers, the chain began to feel a tad snug whenever we’d try to take it off, with him making unhappy faces when I’d get it temporarily stuck on his ears. I’m happy to say that the XL gives him that extra wiggle (or breathing) room but not so much that he could wiggle right out of the collar. It appears that the collar is reasonably well-constructed such that I’m not concerned about it coming apart. The combination of limited slip collar and cute well-fitting design means all of us here at Schmudtz’s house are happy.

This collar is so vibrant and soft! It stands out against my dog's fur and looks great! The webbing used is silky smooth which doesn't cause irritation to my dog's skin. The chain is strong and appears to have both D rings and the O ring welded which is awsome! Martingale collars like this help prevent my dog from slipping out if he tries to back out of the collar, so if your dog tries to slip out of their collar then this might help you out.

I switched to using this collar to help continue leash training for my husky. She was already a generally loose-leash walker, but this has helped reduce the strength of her pulls further. She responds well to it and I like the look of it. I do have to fumble around to find the chain ring to clip the leash to, but it isn't that bad of an issue. The material and production are strong and well-finished. I appreciate the second D ring on the collar as well.
