Our Havanese does NOT like to be combed or brushed and yet needs to be a few times a week. This is the first comb we've tried that he was awesome about! Even lets us use it around his eyes (you know, eye boogers), nose and mouth. No problem, he holds perfectly still. I think it's the smallness of the tines and the handle is back away from the dog's face. Whatever it is, we are both happy. (I can even use the comb that he's happy with to hold his fur down while I snip with small scissors around his eyes, which before would never have happened.)

I have a Shih Tzu puppy and I’ve been having the hardest time finding something, anything, that would help me keep his eye area clean. I had bought this tool as a recommendation from my breeder when I first brought him home and had forgotten about it since I bought about a dozen different brushing tools. After weeks of wipes and other eye brushes I finally found this one in my tool bag in it’s original package. Took it out and used it for the first time today and it was sooo good at getting everything off around his eyes I almost wanted to cry. It’s small enough to be easily used around a 6# puppy’s face and remove weeks of the goo buildup around his face. Couldn’t recommend this tool more. Wipes will help loosen up the goop but only a tool like this one gets them out of all the little hair and lashes.

Excellent for combing my 9 lb Shih Tzus face. I first apply a warm washcloth to soften up the gunk around her mouth and beard and use this comb to remove it. Recommended by my groomer and puppy doesn't mind it--too much!

Perfect sized comb for my teacup puppy's face. I hate trying to use a regular sized comb to brush her face - those are giant by comparison. This one is much more dainty and the teeth are close enough to comb any dinner leftovers right out of her super fine hair. I just happened to find this here while looking for a different tool - but so glad I did! Worth every penny. If you have a small dog - you need this!

I have a maltipoo, a white one, so tear stains, are a regular issue. I pictured, this product, by the one I previously used. Honestly, they work the same. I don't feel, either of them, necessarily performs better. But, this one, is of higher quality. Nice handle..easy to hold. The bristle part is stronger..more sturdy. Definitely, more visually appealing. Gets the eye gunk out, just as effectively, as others. But, I do anticipate, this one lasting longer. I have had, my bigger dog, grab an old one, and knaw on it. This one, could withstand such trauma, much better. Haha.

The gray gunk becomes hardened and stuck into the fur. I first wet the fur with warm wet paper towel then the magic of the comb comes in. Because the metal teeth were fine and dull on the tips, you can safely comb through the fur to remove the eye gunk. You'll see it accumulate on the comb between the teeth.I love the comfortable handle for a good grip. The metal end extends a little further than the rest of the teeth. I think this part scares the pup especially seeing it so close to her eyes. I don't blame her bc I'm the same.

Works well, but one tooth of the comb broke off already, and I have a Chihuahua. Could be just a defected one.

I bought this comb to clean my two little white dogs eye boogers. After using it three times a tooth was missing which was disappointing as it wasn't cheap and it came from the USA. No further teeth have broken in use, and it does the job despite the missing tooth.

I absolutely love this comb!I run a small "Stuffed Animal Hospital and Adoption" clinic through a friend's children's book store, repairing and refurbishing (see what I did there?) plush friends and helping them get a longer lease on life. One of the biggest improvements is also one of the easiest -- brushing their fur! I have a number of grooming combs and brushes, but I've found that the smaller the space between teeth, the fluffier the fur gets. It's amazing how much of a difference this makes, even on 30+ year old stuffed animals! It's awesome seeing the looks on peoples' faces when the stuffed animal they grew up with and passed on to their own kid, is suddenly looking brand new. I've put in before and after pics of a fairly new critter who just needed some seams closed and a fluff-up.My biggest issue was the grooming combs that are plastic with metal pins punched in. Within their first few uses, pins would be bent and falling out, with no way to fix them. I went through three (one manufacturer replaced) before I gave up and looked for a better fit. One bent pin completely changes things and can rip and tear something you're trying to make soft! I've taken some pictures of my previous comb and my current comb for comparison. Obviously my assistant has his own preference for which one is fun to play with! But that's not exactly a plus in grooming. This comb has been fantastic. The top pin has bent a tiny bit, but after several weeks worth of use that's the only visible change! It's so sturdy I bought a second one for my own use, and it's stood up to mats and tangles on some of my more involved projects. My cat likes it too, especially on the top of his head, haha. It does get a fair amount of fur from places that are hard to reach like the base of his tail and closer to his sanitary areas. It can pull if you're not gentle, so this is a chilling-in-the-lap kind of grooming tool and not a follow-around-the-room kind (because walking during grooming sessions is very important!).At least the plush animals sit still while I brush them! Please excuse the pawbs in the pics, my cat was assisting me, as cats are required to do during any photo shoot.
