Your cart is empty.Cast Alnico 5 horseshoe magnet is used for clamping, work holding, and positioning in areas where heat is a factor. Holds items firmly to steel or through thin material not containing iron in temperatures up to 975 degrees Fahrenheit. This magnet's holding ability changes the least in raised temperatures when compared to all other permanent magnets. It only loses 0.02% power for every degree in Celsius increased above room temperature. Horseshoe and Button shapes are cast with 2-Poles. This increases the holding strength and gives it ability to hold through thin material not containing iron. Cast Alnico 5 is primarily made of Aluminum, Nickel, Cobalt and Iron. It is black in color, silver when ground, and is often painted red. Cast 5 Alnico produces a high pull strength. A keeper is recommend when you are not using the magnet. A keeper is included, a piece of steel that covers and connects the North and South Pole to reduce loss of power. Size tolerances are +/- .016" on all dimensions except thickness. The thickness or Pole face is ground to +/- .005". Cast Alnico 5 is hard and brittle and does not lend itself to conventional machining. However it can be ground or cut by Electronic Discharge Machining.

This product was exactly as advertised. The magnet is compact in size but very strong. I needed it to hold up a water filter line where there wasn't any other way to attach it to the wall. This magnet holds it to the back of the refrigerator. I would recommend this product.

Used twice and so far great effects with my magnetic nail polish. Thumb is a bit tight but still works.

Product is great if you can fit your finger in the middle section of the magnet to get the velvet affect on metallic nail polishes.

You can get some really great effects with magnetic nail polish and this magnet. I would definitely recommend getting it.

When I Ordered this item some how I did not read small print regarding power and size of this magnet.Perhaps will work for some project but is not good for my.

Good strong magnets. Using them for undergraduate Lorentz force lab. Measure the change in weight of a carbon rod carrying current when the magnet is held in the correct (right hand rule) orientation.

We bought this magnet to provide a quick way to operate the on-off switch on an ANS spinal stimulator implant because we misplaced the large horseshoe magnet supplied by ANS. It works just fine even though it is much smaller and more compact than the ANS magnet. We found the original but still use mostly the Master Magnetics because it is much more convenient.
