Hubby and I wanted a smoker for years. We don’t cook for more than 3 people, so we didn’t require a monster smoker. We wanted something easy to use, and portable. I had read many negative reviews, so I was skeptical when my husband ordered it anyway. All I can say is that this smoker is awesome! We’ve used it a lot, and it’s perfect. We don’t use much propane. A few tips: get a cast iron skillet to put the water and wood chips in, and get one that will fit, not too big. We bought a gauge for the propane tank, get a digital thermometer, and watch a few YouTube videos on smoking. This wasn’t a lot of money, and we love it. Btw, my husband is a retired firefighter, and he’s the one that bbq’s and smokes the food. He likes how the design is safe and easy to use.

Will hold a lot of meat. Haven't tried veggies. I bought a Dutch oven lid holder and a small cast iron skillet to put the wood chips in and facilitate ash cleanup. Barely fits under the water pan, but works great without presoaking the chips. I also brought some large aluminum pans (9x13, 30ea for ~ $20) to catch drippings (needs lots of water or aple cider mix so as not to burn and dry out). I place it on a shelf just above the water pan. I start out hot (300*) for a bit, then low and slow (200*) for several (or more) hours. Get yourself a pair of silicone smoker oven gloves -- they're very helpful. This is my second one. The first lasted > 7 years outside, mostly uncovered until the propane hose cracked and the fire was outside the smoker. Not much, but some rust is also why the new smoker. The other one also had wheels on the rear for easy moving. This one you get to carry. It's not that light!Masterbuilt is good quality. I recommend it. I'll cover this one every time it's not in use. 😳

i like it, heats up fast and a great size BUT you need to run it to check the temps. the door thermometer does NOT jive with my oven meter. further, at the lowest setting it cooks at 250f, if you want to slow cook less than that, do NOT buy this. i've cooked 'Cerakote' and a turkey, all came out great.

First time smoker buyers. We love it. It was easy to put together….my 11 year old actually did it. We had to play around with the gas and air flow to get the temp where we wanted it but after we figured it out it was perfect. Smoked a 12.5 pound brisket for about 13 hours and it fell apart.

Very disappointed. Trying to replace my Smoke Hollow vertical smoker that I've loved for the last several years. Found out Masterbuilt bought Smoke Hollow so thought this would be the next best thing. Product says 30in smoker. Could not find anything 30" in the description, but did find measurements in two different places including the images of 20x20x43. While it isn't 30", 20 inches wide and deep would be fine for what I needed and about the size of the one I'm replacing so I ordered it. I should have known better just by the description and the measurements being different. Got the smoker today and its even smaller than what it shows in the description!! You can see from the pictures that it is only 15.5 wide and only 14.5 deep. You can't even fit a full rack of ribs in it!! I could not even find any measurement on the entire thing that was 30" or 20" inches. I don't know if it is Masterbuilt or Amazon that is to blame here, but if you are looking for something that will smoke full racks of ribs, even a small brisket or whole turkey over 9lbs, DO NOT BUY THIS SMOKER! I will be promptly returning.

i purchased to cook a lot of briskets for my wedding. i also was able to try it out on brined mackerel, pork belly, ribs, chicken and various beef cuts.here are a couple of tips:- get a multi-probe leave-in thermometer, you'll want to have a probe in the box as well as in anything you are cooking, much better to gauge based on internal temperature than to rely on recipe times (every piece of meat is different), once you get good at it, you can do it based on color and tenderness.- get a small cast iron pan to put your wood chunks in, the flame licks the factory grate and will cause the wood to ignite, putting a cast iron pan on top of the grate and you won't get flare up.- ensure the water tray is full, which will temper the heat.- the "texas crutch"/foil will reduce your cook time and prevent burning- if you are cooking brisket or something else with a lot of intercellular fat, you'll want to "hold" it in your oven at 170F for about 12hrs, this will make a huge difference for juiciness and tenderness.
