Watched a youtube video that had these scales in it, thought they functioned well in video so decided to do a little research. Got a Napa flyer in the mail with these exact scales, price 299. Hmmm, wonder if they can be had any cheaper? Leave it to Amazon to have one of the best prices around. Almost half that of Napa. Comes in the sturdy case that is pictured, all instructions are on the inside of the lid. Came with a Duracell 9Volt battery, can't ask for more than that! The actual scales feel solid, extremely well built. The digital readout is plenty large and easy to read. Also has a built in kick stand to prop the display unit up at about a 45% angle on a flat surface. No backlighting of any kind, could be a problem for old eyes in a dimly lit shop, I'm not there yet, so I don't know.To justify this to the wife, if she's less than 243lbs. you could tell her to close her eyes, step on, hit TARE and viola! She's light as a feather, and with as vain as most women are, she'll probably buy a set just to show her friends...

i am in an apartment complex maintenance position,take care of all of our hvac repairs,have used this scale little over a year,have not had any issues,works great,reliable,just dont let the digital lcd screen be exposed to direct sunlight or it will go black,take it out of the sun and it will come back,i just set it behind the unit or freon box to shield it,have owned a jb scale in past,still comparable,would recommend this one for the price

I am a HVAC tech and this is the second scale I've used and this one is great for the money. Anything Mastercool has never failed me. They make great products, and only second best to yellow jacket in my opinion.This scale has many functions and a great sensitivity. Worked perfect out of the box and the leveling eye in the center of the scale is a nice feature.From my experience you can expect Mastercool to deliver when you want a good fuctioning product.

As an HVAC service technician cannot say the sturdy craftsmanship on this machine. Good quality materials. If you leave the rubber on the scale exposed to sunlight it will come off, but it can be easily re glued, other than that you can't go wrong with this scale.Four years later in 2019 and it has been heavily used as an HVAC contractor, it was exposed to rain, snow and under water and it keeps running...amazed. will buy again
