If you are going to complete a DIY radon mitigation system, this is the kit to order. The manufacturer was extremely helpful when I called to properly size my system (fan, pipes, etc) and took their time to answer my questions. The fan was very easy to install and runs very quietly. The PVC adapter fittings made install quick and provide for easy service if needed. The motor housing feels extremely robust and high quality. How well did it work? My readings dropped from 7-9 pCi/L all the way down to 0.3 pCi/L when measured with an AirThings monitor. Extremely satisfied with this unit!

Looks like a good stout unit. Comes with the connection sleeves , manometer and basics so you can plan out and build your system. Fan is reasonably quiet and easy to wire. Comes with 5 year warranty.Update: after 2 weeks my radon levels were retested, and we went down from 4Pic to 1.3. Unit is doing its job. Worth every penny.

I recently purchased the Airthings Wave smart radon meter for my home, and I realized that I had very high radon levels. When I first installed the meter, I was getting readings of 17-20 pCi/L. I realized a couple things: firstly, the sump pit in my home was pouring radon gas into the basement. After properly sealing that, the passive radon system in the house was fluctuating between 4 and 9 pCi/L. Definitely an improvement, but the levels were still dangerous.This radon fan kit made it all too easy to convert my passive radon system into an active one. The kit comes with everything you need to install and get the system running within a few hours as long as you have power within about 6’ of the fan. The included power cord is incredibly easy to wire (it utilizes Wago style push connectors) and only took a few minutes. For extra peace of mind, electricians sometimes recommend wrapping the outside of the Wago connectors with electrical tape after installation so the levers don’t accidentally open when putting the wires into the unit or a junction box. It does not take any experience with electrical to wire this fan though with the instructions being extremely clear with diagrams.Installation was easy, and the included manometer allows for easily checking to see the vacuum pressure the system is generating. The kit includes the Fernco gaskets to attach to the PVC pipe in the passive radon system, the cord (unless you choose to hard wire the fan), the manometer & tube, and a ton of stickers to utilize on your radon mitigation system.Between sealing the sump pit and all of the expansion joints on the basement slab and installing this fan, my levels have stayed consistently around 0.5-0.9 pCi/L.I highly recommend this kit for anyone that is looking to improve the air quality in their home and make it safer for their family. The EPA stresses that radon is the 2nd highest contributor to lung cancer after smoking, so please I encourage you to check your levels and use any of these Festa kits to make your home safe!

Works great. Quiet. Can't hear it dienstairs after installing in attic. Has everything included in the kit to plug & play. Dropped radon level down to safer level (31 to less than 2). Buy it, it works!

The bundle was nice because included the needed cable and pipe adapters. My passive system had a 3†pvc pipe so these adapters fit the job. I installed the fan in my unfinished attic since it couldn’t go in the basement due to leak potential. I wired the fan before going in the attic which was easy; just opened the top cover, screwed in the black cap in the hole opening, fed the wires through the hole and clipped the wire to the correct one (black/black, blue/white and green/yellow with green). Once the fan is wired, you can test it before going to the attic or outside. For the attic installation I had a measuring tap, flat head screw driver, sharpie marker, lamp, fine tooth reciprocating saw and fan. To install the fan I measured the fan end to end and added an inch; this is the distance I marked on the pvc pipe to cut. I made sure the fan could fit at that spot because there was some inferences around the pipe. Used the fine tooth reciprocating saw to cut the pipe and held the pipe at the top to keep it from dropping. Used the flat head screw driver to tightened the adapter pieces to the fan and pipe and plugged into the nearby outlet. The pressure gauge can be installed prior to the fan where ever convenient so I put mine in the basement. One good tip I read was to drill downward for the flexible tube so that condensation doesn’t get into the gauge. Also remove both plugs on the pressure gauge. Mine read just under an inch of suction which shows the fan is working. If the pressure difference is higher than 1†the pipe might be too much against the gravel or obstructed. Hope these steps and pictures help!

This is a excellent solution for Radon issues under the basement slab of larger houses with clear crushed gravel under the slab. This fan moves a lot of air at a low noise levels. The install kit was great and supplied all the hard to get fittings for a complete install solution in one well thought out package. Get a kit like this, it made the install a very smooth less than one day job.Radon levels dropped by a factor of over 50 in the first day.

The ferncos that come with it DO NOT FIT. I had to buy additional 6x4s which were not cheap. The ones that come with it appear to be 5x3s?
