I bought these a year ago, and you MUST sharpen them really well. Once sharp mine held an edge like nobody's business! One knife took forever to get an edge on it, but its held it well.I pulled these out today and did some light sharpening with the included file, and also used a finer one I have and they easily came up to shaving hair.Really happy with them over all.The saw, is a bit flimsy but is so much easier to use because it is small, I love it and I got through 3 hogs with all this set and they worked great. I feel mine were a fantastic bargain, I wish they had a little nicer handles but they are a good quality blade.

Used the skinning knife and hacksaw to dress out a feral hog harvested on a state sponsored hunt. The knives and cleaver are not very sharp right out of the box so you need to spend some time sharpening them beforehand. The saw worked fine for quartering. Not the most high quality tools but certainly adequate for anything but real large game.

I just wanted an affordable butcher (French) knife for small game. I had VERY low expecations considering the price and I was fully prepared to get something that was worth the modest price paid and give it a 4 star review. On arrival thtough...the best I can do is 3 star. From the case to the handles to the weight of the steel....all really low quality. I just needed it to field dress squirrel and rabbits...I'm not sure these tools will even make it to see a second season.I'm not returning it because I bought it knowing it was cheap. I also have hope that (garbage case aside) the knives may hold up well enough with some TLC and I will revisit this review and give more stars if warranted.

I am a racist hunter, this past weekend we had bear and two deer to process and we used this kit, an I am so glad I bought this. The edges held beautifully for the deer. Skinned in leased then ten minutes. The bear we needed to resharpen on. But I am so happy with my purchase.
