They are plastic, and I honestly like that. They come with the hooks and are quite adorable. Worth the money- 2 small and 2 large. Two chains are shorter for the small than the large.

So, in theory, these are adorable. I’m a sucker for anything acrylic (or clear), and these fit the bill. And they’re self-watering?!? I was sold! I was wondering how well the rope (for self-watering) would work but it actually works really well! In my opinion, seeing the water is both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because you can see the water level and when your plant needs more. In the flip side, because you can see the water, you can also see the dirt and soil that’s in it. You can see from my close up picture that the water is a little dingy making it look not as “clean†as I’d like it to. However, it doesn’t bother me to the point where I would return it. Just something to note if you’re debating on purchasing it. Assembly was really easy and the large pots are a decent size. Another note is that the small planters are super small so keep that in mind when you’re picking out your plants.

Every year I manage to kill one or two ferns in our summer heat. Even if I water and mist daily, they go to plant heaven by late July or early August. This year I kept an asparagus fern alive from March until now and it’s still thriving! I’m also using the pots with other plants and all but one is thriving! My only complaint is that the small ones are almost too small. From a distance they look like glass.

I like the wicking system for watering the plants. You just fill the bottom with water and the wicking system takes care of the watering for you.

These really added some flair and pizzazz to my kitchen windows that feel bleak during the long dark gloomy days of winter

Set has too many large pots and they don't sell a small pots only set. That wastes several large pots. Outside container needs a hole drilled for drainage so the pot doesn't sit in water killing the plant.

These are excellent quality planters. I like that the plastic looks like vintage glass, the pots cannot drip onto the floor, and that they include a fabric "wick" to pull moisture up to the roots. They were easy to assemble. You will need to buy your own ceiling hooks.
