This is a pretty good 4 pound mallet/hammer. It's a pretty straightforward tool, not much to go on about. The PVC rubber material seems thick and good quality, and I didn't see any defects or issues with it. The handle is checkered, and that helps a bit with the grip. I personally would prefer a rounded or oval handle, but it's not uncomfortable, it's just a preference. The square shape probably does help a bit with insuring alignment of the head with the surface of what you're working on by feel. My only issue with this is that there are nearly identical hammers available locally for less, so I think the price is a little on the high end. But that aside, it's a quality tool.

I needed a dead blow hammer to help get some wooden furniture put back together without damaging it.This 4lb hammer worked wonders in comparison to the rubber mallet I was using earlier. In reality I probably could have gotten away with a 3lb or 2lb dead blow hammer, but this 4lb did quick work of fixing the joiner issue without damaging the wood surface.I would recommend using a dead blow hammer for this type of work, where you need to re-fit a wooden joints back together, as compared to a regular metal hammer that will damage the wood fibers, or a rubber mallet which has too much bounce.Very useful. RECOMMENDED.

This is a well made large mallet.Seems to be well made and durable. This is now my go to tool when attempting to remove winter wheels that are stuck to the rotor, or for removing rotors themself when doing a brake job.
