Purchased to use with my VelociRAX 7 bike carrier and my tent trailer. I saw the reviews of some other people having the hitch break on them (after I had already made the purchase). I could not find anything out there that had stronger specs than this, so I decided to give it a try. I had to use a 4†drop on my ball mount so the ball cup would clear the bike rack. I also made a modification so I could insert my bike rack 3†further into the top receiver. My bike rack has an anti wobble bolt and I also purchased an anti wobble bracket to take the slack out of the link between the van receiver hitch and the dual receiver adapter. Lastly I used some tie downs to add some additional support and stability to the system. I assume my bike rack fully loaded weighs close to 325lbs. I am not sure if the Tongue weight limit refers to just the trailer being pulled by the lower receiver, or if it is referring to the total weight of the bike rack and the trailer tongue Weight. Nevertheless, I did not want to take any chances so the tie downs were put in place to add additional support as we went over dips in the freeway and bumps in the dirt roads.Results: 400 miles on freeways, country roads and dirt roads to City of Rocks and nothing broke or even showed signs of fatigue. After I got home I pulled it all apart and it does not look like anything even got bent. There were a few transitions on freeway overpasses that made me tense up as the 12 passenger van, 7 bikes, and a tent trailer bounced through the dips... but it all held and it made our trip a success. I will say that it takes some experimentation to get all your spacing right and on my Nissan NVP 3500, the 4†drop makes the trailer a little lower than it should be. All that being said, I’m happy with the purchase and I hope it gives me lots of years of future adventures.

For the most part I am very happy with this two-level hitch. I use it to haul a long kayak trailer from the bottom receiver and for a bike rack on the top. It is plenty strong for that. But - it would be good to make the lower receiver stick out more beyond the top one to better allow for trailer couplers that use pop-up handles to engage the ball. This could also be done by raising the top receiver a bit more with a 1 inch longer connecting tube.I can't open and close the handle unless I maneuver the car/trailer to exactly the right hump that gives me a bit more clearance. If the trailer was a screw down type closure, it would be much easier, but that's not what I have. I would consider a straight extender for the lower receiver, but I don't need yet another pin-on joint and that would also transfer the tongue weight further back.

This hitch doubler solves a very specific problem for those of us that still want to use a bike rack while towing.I have a teardrop, but I wanted to use a bike rack to free up room on the truck bed to carry other gear. Since my trailer has a long, straight beam tongue this solved my problem perfectly. The trailer weighs about 1500lbs loaded, so figure ~150lbs of tongue weight plus a little under 100lbs for the rack and bikes. This thing is more than sturdy enough for that. However, I probably wouldn't trust it with much more than that. It's held strong on many miles of highway and forest road driving, but I still wouldn't put more than 60-70% of it's rating on it just to be safe.

Sorry. Didn't rate stretch, because I don't know what it means......😳. But it is EXTREMELY durable and easy to install. I had bought both a cargo basket and bike rack at the same time, and wanted to be able to use BOTH at the same time..... 🤗......Works GREAT!!!!!

I purchased this product so I could haul my bike rack at the same time I pull my boat or enclosed trailer. I haven't used it with my trailers yet.I used it on my brother's Jeep Wrangler, which has a large spare tire on the back. The bike mounted closest to the Jeep would hit the spare tire. This extension pushed the rack back far enough so the bike fit easily. Since I wasn't pulling a trailer at the same time, I actually installed the extension "upside down" so the short section was closest to the ground. I installed the rack in the lower short section. This allowed the bikes to ride down farther, and not in the wind as much. In this Jeep, with larger tires, there was still plenty of ground clearance for the rack.

Excellent product. Heavy duty. Well made. Weighs 16 lbs. works perfect. My scooter carrier used to scrap ground/pavement at times. Now it doesn't as it raises rack 7 " higher off the ground. The trick is to drill new holes in rack attachment closer than predrilled holes, therefore it is closer to bumper than the rack would normally be as the extension or this product extends rack 7" from the normal position ( where it would go into normal hitch position) Would recommend to anyone where carrier touchs the ground in certain circumstances. Well worth the $$.

Heavy duty and fitted correctly, used few time for hitch hauler and trailer together for towing and was not shaking, good quality, welds seems will hold for heavy hauling

This item is a scam! The manual it comes with states that the top receiver has a capacity of 100LB. Which is 45 kg. That might just about carry a bike rack. But not one with bikes on it! This is not clearly stated on Amazon.The holes are also positioned so that it can be used anyway. Complete waste of money and time.
