We purchased a house which needed quite a bit of repointing and so I purchased this to aid me in my efforts. It functions wonderfully and has stood up to the abuse of taking out a better part of our homes mortar to be redone. It's well-balanced, holds up to abuse and chews through anything I put in for it. The handle wasn't something I'm used to with a chisel but now I can't imagine having a chisel without one. It really helped break up the impact from the hammer to the Chisel which I appreciate with a lot of work. Great tool!

This product worked well for me in my project. It held up exceedingly well and did what it was supposed to do.I used it to quickly chip away unwanted and excessive concrete that had spilled over into my berry garden from around fence posts without compromising the integrity of the posts' anchoring concrete. I was easily able to trim the concrete in a straight line, then add a baseboard to keep unwanted weeds from migrating to my garden.Yes, I would recommend this to others.

The edge holds well, the guard is securely fitted, and the length is perfect for reaching into tight spaces without compromising grip. I've cut bolts/rivets and cut several feet of weld with no perceivable damage, as expected of a quality cold chisel.I generally use long cold chisels to chisel out welds or cut bolts/rivets in areas a die grinder or air chisel can't reach, and shorter chisels dont give you enough length to hold it securely in place. This does that job perfectly. Coming from Mayhew, I expected a good product, and I doubt anything else on the market can't beat a quality USA made tool at this price point.

I am a retired chemistry professor/chemist, so I am not very familiar with these tools. This was way too large for what I needed it for. I can say that it is built very very well. You could tear your entire house down with this monster chisel. I am keeping it because I may need it later if I tear out my shower and replace the tiles.

Pros: Edge stayed sharp. Easy to use. MADE IN USA. Edge did not show any wear after cutting a 55 gallon steel drum head. This tool is a great value. I am looking forward to using it again.

I had to chisel away some concrete under a stair base. I originally used a grinder but the dust was ridiculous. Ordered this and smashed the material away in really quick time with much easier clean up. I also felt I had better control remove the material in tighter spots. Glad I have the tool. I'll be using it again to crack some cinder blocks soon. I think I'll need a bigger hammer.

This product is amazing. Perfect size and weight for breaking rocks. Very sturdy material and comfortable to hold. Used it for fossil hunting and was great.
