My chihuahua has been litterbox trained since she was a puppy. When it's nice out she goes outside but still uses the "box" at night or when we are not home. She always has access to it. She is now 14 and has taken to eating the litter as well as dirt! We do not have cats so there isn't any cat poop to eat. This problem arises just like licking their paws. It could be allergies(haven't changed her food), boredom or senility. Besides eating the litter I am also tired of it tracking through my house. I removed the litter box, moped and cleaned the area well and set out the grass. I did this in the morning. I told her about it all day and she looked at it every time. Before we went to bed that night she used it! Pooping on it took a few days and a not so accidental poop on the coach, but she did it at night when she had to go. We are patient because she is old. The set comes with an extra grass which is very helpful. I bought other pads at the store. I knew going into this that finding small pads was probably not going to happen but I just folded the sides and that made them 13" with extra sticking out on the ends. She doesn't care and pees on the grass. I just pick up the poop with a baggy and if it's messy I bring to the basement to clean in the sink. I change the pad almost everyday. I bring the trash over to it to make it easier. I kept the litter box to transport everything when it all needs to be washed. The pad it comes with doesn't soak anything up! The pack I bought works great, no leaking when I lift up to remove. Still work involved and you will eventually find a routine that works for you the more you use it. For me it is amazing she can no longer eat the litter and it is not all over my house.

It takes some practice and training but that goes with anything you teach a new pup to do. It took me about a month We got it when our little chi was about 3 months old and about a pound and a half. She’s not expected to get over 5-6 lbs so I’m hopeful we can use it for a long time. She had been used to peeing on a regular pad so at first I put the pad in the hard plastic container and she used it. Then I put the grass in and sprayed it with a “go here†product and it worked like a charm. She uses it in the bathroom and when she goes in there with me (and they all do!) she also goes potty because I use the word “peepee†so she understands what that is now. I put the extra grass pad with a pee pad under it outside on the porch for when she’s sunbathing and hanging out and I’ve never found a pee spot on the porch. I really need about three more to put in various places. She also prefers to poop on the grass than the floor, so yay! Much praise is given for whatever she does on the grass. This is a very helpful product to use with a small dog that can’t go outside alone. Just consider the size of your puppy when buying, as the size I got IS for small dogs.

It works well, but the plastic pan is a lot flimsy than the old one. The one I had bought before the pan was a lot sturdier than this one is now, and it was the same person I purchased it from before

I like the small size for the purpose I needed it. I have had several larger of this type for my chihuahua. I got this for a small zip enclosure, but I went to change it only to discover that the pad does not hold water like the other under grass pads. I've always used the ones that have the blue plastic on the back and absorbant material, so I just fold to dispose. This one was soaked through and the underlaying parts had pee sloshing during the same period of time. It would be better to not include it than to use these flimsy ones. As I was cleaning it, I noticed that the tray itself is more like the disposable trays in the butcher section than the sturdy plastic trays. So while the size was right, they don't do the job well.

This product arrived broken. The tray is a very thin flimsy tray- the edges of the tray were cracked in three of the four corners. Just from shipping in side of the box- no damage to the box. Imagine what would happen if my dog stepped on the sides to use it the first time???!!???!! This is being returned. Sadly I ordered the x-large one too and we are still waiting for that to arrive- I will be shipping that one back too.

Chihuahuas use with no problem now. They seem to really like using it. It took some patience, but if you think about it we've spent 8-10 years telling them not to potty inside and now we tell them it's ok and they are good dogs for going potty. Both my dogs looked at me the first time I got them to go potty on it like--- I better not get in trouble for this. LolNow the BAD we live in an apartment so where are you going to wash the grassy pad?? In the shower right? Well the grassy pads are full of black plastic. I mean ALOT of plastic. So ok I took them to the car wash hung them on the floor mat hanger and sprayed each with high pressure spray both sides 20 minutes.. just now after my pups used them again. I washed them in shower I still got a lot of plastic it's about the size of sand but black now. This could really cause problems with drain trap in showers or sinks or bath tubs. If you can wash them outside you should. I can't.6/28/2021I added a picture of my bathtub after I washed the artificial grass pads 2 of them. This after they've been washed in a shower 2 twice and in the tub once and at the car wash 2 times. And they still badly smelled of pee and the black plastic is still coming outI now am using the tray-- pads-- and the supports, but I now am using heavy fiberglass window screen as the top Instead of the artificial grass. Having to encourage my chihuahua to use the new surface but they are. The screen will be able washed easily and they aren't awkward to pickup and not have pee still dripping from artificial grass. The artificial. grass is the big problem with the smell not the pads.

This is great. It has saved my girlfriends floor from her puppy. He's figired out that he is to pee in this instead now when we dont get him out fast enough after a play session . Didn't take long for him to learn. Great for when weather is miserable. The grass patch has sewn edges so it's harder for the puppy or dog to bite at. It's also super easy to clean. I used some dish soap and scubbed it on both sides before hosing it off. Same with the lift mat and catch tray. It will likely smell over time but that's ok. Well worth it. The smell out of the box wasn't terrible (the plastic smell people complain about) burn some scented candles or something... having the 2nd grass mat wax great cuz having one dry after washing while one is in use was great. Wish there was a post of some kind for the leg lifting.
