I am new to Chinese Brush Painting. I previously bought the raw paper and had trouble controlling my paints and ink because they would "smear" and bleed a lot. This was not what I wanted for most of my paintings even though the raw paper worked perfect for my painted chicks. Overall, this semi-sized paper is much better. I can control my inks better. I divided the paper into thirds to get more use out of them. I prefer smaller paintings. You get lots of paper for the price. I would recommend this paper to a beginner. But to someone more advance, I'd recommend purchasing from either Blue Heron Arts or Oriental Art Supply. Sure its pricier on the other websites, but there is more variety of paper to choose from.

The paper is thinner than the ones I purchased previously from other vendors at Amazon, but the quality is comparable. I'd say it met my expectations. One unfortunate note: it has 98 sheets instead of 100 as described, I guess it could be a factory quality control issue.

This works beautifully for Suminagashi . I have made at least one hundred prints of Japanese marbling with this paper. I searched and searched for something like this, and I hope for all of you out there looking to do the same This is very helpful because I could find nobody that had an opinion on it. You have to be very careful and delicate when pulling out of the water, etc. it’s not indestructible, but it will not turn to pulp like other papers I experimented with! Have fun!!!

I wrote a review on this package complaining about not absorbing ink two days ago. Then I realized that I got raw paper instead of half raw. I don’t know if I made mistake or it was delivered by mistake. Anyway I should give the paper good credit.

This rice paper is smelly and it has a very unpleasant texture. I wanted to use it for printing with my gelli plate . Rather disappointing.
