I ordered one of these through amazon and received it with enthusiasm. After playing it during a parade, I noticed that the head was pinched at 2 particular places. After taking the head off, I noticed a fairly large divot and/or chip in two various places ON THE LEADING EDGE of the shell. This is the place where the head meets the shell and is stretched very tightly. The chip is causing the head to wear abnormally. After contacting amazon, they said contact the manufacturer, which I did. After waiting a month + for Meinl to respond, my amazon return window closed, and then Meinl responded by saying return it through Amazon.Now i'm stuck with a defect Timba that is wearing through the head in 3 months.I give Meinl an F for customer support on this manufacturing defect.BOOO>

The quality was excellent. However, the Youtube video I saw on this suggested it could produce more variations in sounds, like a conga. I hadn't played a timba before.Anyhow, I have too many drums, wanted a portable conga, so will sell this.
