I purchased this product for my 3 almost 4 year old daughter for Christmas.As far as the product itself goes, it is very easy for her to sort colors and match them to the pictures on the tiles. The quality of the pictures is great, and is easily read. The container and pieces are all made of wood, so it makes it more durable than plastic in my opinion. Some of the pieces are a bit small, so it's really up to a parent's own views whether or not to give them to a younger child. I personally would not go any younger than 3.The only downfall is that the lid that comes with the set isn't really stable. It looks great when first purchased as it's coated in plastic wrap, but the lid only sits on top of the container, nothing is secure. I had to purchase a plastic container to keep pieces in so they would not get lost.Overall, this is a great product to stimulate young minds, and can be used for making patterns even without the pictures provided.I would definitely recommend this product, and plan on purchasing extra pattern boards and blocks in the future.

This is another great toy from Melissa and Doug. It allows my kids to use their imagination when they play. It is a great toy to keep them busy for a while. The wood pieces and board is made of quality material so it should last a while!

Amazing toy for building focus, concentration, fine motor, and patience. I bought this for my four, soon to be five year old, and have noticed so many benefits. I’m shocked by the petty complaints about it. Of course the pieces slide around. It’s intended to be that way so that the child takes her time placing the pieces together as opposed to just slapping them down sloppily (hence the patience building aspect). It takes more time to put the puzzle together, thus more concentration is required. I like to have my son build the puzzle on the picture mat, then really challenge him by taking the mat away and having him replicate the same thing on the bare table. This toy promotes an incredible amount of brain building possibilities. I also talk to him about concepts like “on top ofâ€, “next toâ€, “underneathâ€, etc., terms that are integral to following directions and building executive function. I also have him sort the pieces accordingly to color (sorting is a great precursor to math readiness) and also talk about the shapes. Also, I am not bothered by the lack of a cover. I just throw everything in a gallon sized ziploc and save lots of space that way. I found the pieces and boards to be of high quality, with no smell or flaws whatsoever.

Being a Montessori teacher, this is a wonderful activity for toddlers. As others have noted, there is no lid which makes it difficult to keep the pieces safely stored. The boards are slippery which makes it difficult to keep shapes lined up.The puzzle box was missing the orange triangles. It was difficult getting through to customer service

My son loves playing with this shape art activity. I love that it comes with pictures that he can then match with the shapes. He also loves making his own shapes which is great for creativity.

My son loved this. I have one for my classroom and one for my son to use at home. I also ordered one for a birthday present for another kiddo!
