I admit that I don’t read the full product description when I bought it so I was pleasantly surprised when I learned you could take off the lens cap for another “game†and experience. We had bought the hiking backpack separately so this was an awesome addition.

We are huge Melissa and Doug fans. We love their toys. This camera was a bit disappointing. The sound is lacking. My 3 yr. old grandson asked how to turn up the animal noises several times. Each of the 6 cards are double sided. On one side if you use the red camera lens you can see hidden objects. This could have been fun, but the hidden object's were just basic flowers and plants.I purchased this on sale for 15.99 and I still feel like it was overpriced.

My nephew loves this camera. He is turning two so his parents have to help him use the cards for the animal sounds. He likes pretending he is taking pictures so the camera is a big hit.

This toy camera seems to be made well but is constructed of mostly of plastic with a wood veneer front (web site states wooden toy camera). It also comes with a camera case, 6 animal cards that are plastic coated and have notches in the end that you slide into camera so your child can see the animal in back viewing window and hear the sound that animal makes when they hit the top button the second and third buttons play habitat noises for the animal. The set also includes a plastic coated map card that also tells facts for each animal.This camera is great for small kids that really like animals, but with only 6 different cards it will not be played with for long periods of time, but if you child loves animals they will continue to come back to it.

I found this to to be nostalgic, fun, and didactic. The facts along with the pictures presented in an inviting manner (camera) allows for screen-free fun and learning!
